I am trying to discharge the front air dampers (to replace them of course) and following this:
https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?1996-Level-Control-Bleeding-Charging

when performing step:
[Security Access-16], [Login-11] or [Coding-II]
[08367]

I get (in [Security Access-16]):
Security access error
Controller refused the key
Error 35: invalid key

If I try it in [Coding-II]:
VCDS: Login invalid
Login code not accepted by controller
...
Error 31 Request out of range.

If I still try 0x34-04-021, I get:
ERROR: Group 021 not available

Unfortunately the factory manual (erwin) says only:
Using the Vehicle tester follow instructions to discharge the air supply.

and has no security codes/anything else. So I'm assuming the security code is incorrect. Any ideas what is the correct code or procedure?

Hi Grigor,

You may have this resolved already but SA (or Login) 08367 is correct for this module. I have encountered A8s that won't accept 31564 until you firstly use 08367 but not the other way around. If the car is still at the shop I suppose you could confirm 31564 is accepted (which is for Adaptation not Basic Settings) just to see if the module is being fussy.

Hi,

I would like to add a few thoughts here...

- Make sure the system is fault free before attempting to enter in a Security Access code, either the one for the Basic Settings or Adaptations.

- Verify Level control system pressure in the Measuring Value Block group [006], field 2 should be at least 4-6bar (6-10bar is ideal)
(They make compressor rebuild kits, some under $50 - Done this many times)

- If you still can not get the controller to accept the Security Access codes, switch off the ignition for a period of time, (10 min or so) and try again.

Hope this helps,

drpeter

In addition to all the fine aforementioned tips, I would say that leaving key on with battery charger, engine not running & for 10 minutes may also allow a security access. Additionally some modules will react more receptive to an 83 or 86 mode session for login accepted.

So the problem was there was a fault: level control is off duh!

Anyway, after I switched off the jack mode, the code was accepted right away and worked perfectly. Thanks for the help!

By the way I found one error in the tooltip in the pic below, the values are reversed:
0 means system is active
1 means it's inactive.

What is the proper way to submit this issue to the awesome guys at Ross-tech? :)

P.S. and yeah, any time you have to leave the ignition on for more than 2 minutes, it's highly recommended to connect the battery maintainer.

Hello,

Anyway, after I switched off the jack mode, the code was accepted right away and worked perfectly. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the feedback! Most of these level control systems will allow you to drive off the Jack Mode too. Usually it takes a few moments in a parking lot road test to do this, just in case someone did not know that, ;)

P.S. and yeah, any time you have to leave the ignition on for more than 2 minutes, it's highly recommended to connect the battery maintainer.

And yes! good point, the Bentley vehicles love to eat batteries, so much that they have now added an integrated charger in the boot lid on the newer GTs.

- The factory repair manual should have the prerequisites required when working with these vehicles. However I can add these to the forum post, would not hurt to have them there for the next person ;)

Actually I meant that the tooltip in VCDS is incorrect and should be changed:

By the way I found one error in the tooltip in the pic below, the values are reversed, here are the correct values:
0 means system is active
1 means it's inactive.

Here is where the error is:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap4o2XTLsCbyiLg8gdLWsgOKC0qEMg

So I was asking what is the proper way to submit that as an idea for improvement to the next VCDS version?
