How do I activate the rear fog lights? (2010 A3 8PA)

Dear All,

I own a 2010 Audi A3 2.0T Premium Plus. My car has Xenon, DRL but no Auto sensor or come home. I moved the car to Europe and in order to pass the local inspection I need to activate the rear fog lights. I would like to avoid changing the light fixtures.

After reading around I got the necessary switch (8P1941531BQ) and now I will have to do the necessary coding. I tried what is written here ( https://oooo-a3.blogspot.com/2005/11...og-lights.html ) but the information refers to an older A3 and does not seem to apply to mine.

Has anyone done this? Could you please share the right procedure for changing the coding? If it helps the current coding of the central electronics module from VCDS is:

Since this vehicle uses a (Mk6 Golf based) PQ35 BCM you will need to change Byte 18 and I suspect you will need to add the trigger wire from the headlight switch to the BCM.

Coding:
Byte 18 can be nasty when the original value was covered (hidden) by zeros. As long as you haven't modified the codng already it woudl appear as if your original value was not masked:
62: Audi A3 Sportback (8PA) with Xenon & LED DRLs (Front) North American Region (NAR)

Based on the description I believe this RoW option would enable rear fog after swapping any needed tail light components, wiring and adding the RFL switch:

Dear All,

It has been some time, but, in case anyone is interested, the right solution was to change Byte 18 from 62 to 2C and of course swap the light switch. No wiring was necessary. An experienced mechanic in The Hague (https://www.cartronic.nl/) fixed it in ~10min at minimal cost. The resulting coding of Cent. Elec.:
