Hi Folks,
I happened to check this car for no start issues.Found key stuck in ignition switch, car does nothing when I tried to start with key or start button. Car has strong battery. The message "move gear level to park position otherwise car may roll'' sometimes appear on dash insert, though gear is already in park. I diagnosed the car but found floor carpet wet.
I found the access and start auth. module under driver seat wet, opened module to find moisture and rusts/shorts on the printed circuits. i checked for power and ground inputs to module all ok. As access and start module has no commuication, I am thinking of replacing it but not sure what other tasks may be required in addition to enable start permission. Would I need to replace the steering colum lock and reprogram keys?
Anybody done this before and willing to share will be great.
