Hi, I'm looking for a little guidance on resetting disabled functions on my 2013 A8L. My battery got discharged to the extent that it entered the shut off state. I've since charged the battery and it is now in a reasonably healthy state and all functions seem to be normal. However my rear windows/blinds will not operate. Disabling of windows regulators/motors is listed as one of the possible impacts of shut off process (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/03041). Is there some sort of reset process which has to be gone through to re-enable these? No error codes are show against either control module 62 or 72 (Rear door left & rear door right). Any and all guidance gratefully received.

I've never had an A8 or any other VAG with electric window blinds, so I'm not at all familiar with their operation. Hopefully somebody else has some ideas here.

Thanks for the response Uwe. I had assumed that low power problems should disappear once the SOC is back to a more acceptable level so thanks for confirming that. There is a known problem with a solder joint breaking in the window motor (
) but it would seem very unusual for both to fail at the same time - but who knows. I'll strip one of the doors down to see if it is the solder problem. I'll post any updates/progress as and when. :thumbs:

Before you do that...

Go to 46-Cent. Conv. and look at MVB 003. The first two fields should show the state of the rear roller blind switches. Actuate those switches and verify that the module is seeing them.

There's also some stuff regarding the roller blinds in MVB 015, but I'm not sure I understand it completely.

Unfortunately, I don't see any Output Tests for them, not in the CCM, nor in the door control modules.

Thanks for the suggestions Uwe. I'll answer the simple query first MVB 015 is for the roller blind for the rear windscreen and not the side windows. That blind is functioning perfectly.

With regards to MVB 003

15:19:04 Group 003: Driver's door switches
0 Left Rear roller blind switch
0 Right Rear roller blind switch
00 Child Lock switch Status
Not Oper. Driver Door Lock cylinder

There's no change in the value of either left/right roller blind switch when I actuate them. The switch for the blind is also the switch for the windows. What should happen when I attempt to lower either is as follows

If blind is in raised position and I actuate the switch to lower then the blind alone should lower, a second actuation of the switch should then lower the window.

The reverse operations apply i.e. 1st actuation if window is in the open position closes window and 2nd actuation closes roller blind.

The windows on both sides are operational if I use the output tests for them they lower and raise without difficulty. But I can find no output test for the roller blinds.

So I think I'm back to stripping the door down and checking for the solder problem.

Unless you have any other suggestions?

If the roller blinds are controlled by the same switch, perhaps you can run the window output tests twice? Roll down, then roll down again, same with roll up?

Thanks for the suggestion - I had already tried that without success. I'll be stripping down one of the doors to check the motor. :facepalm:
