Car is a 2014 NMS Passat TDI SEL. I have looked around everywhere and cant find a definitive answer on this. I put LED headlights and foglights in my car and they work great but I kind of figured they would throw bulb warnings, and they do. Only at startup though. After starting, the warning goes away and everything works as it should, all the lights turn on and off like they should, throw no warnings, and the fogs even fade on and off like they should. I read that disabling an option called "Cold monitoring" for the bulbs will get rid of this startup check, but I cant seem to find it anywhere in my CECM. I know I can get a canbus adapter that should fix the issue, but I would like to solve it with coding if possible.
For the time being, I managed to turn off the headlight bulb warning by selecting Byte 14, Bit 4 in the CECM "Xenon Headlights (w/o shutter) installed". I believe this gets rid of the startup check based on the nature of xenon lights, and the LED headlights seem to work just fine with no issues at all with this selected.
I cant find any option like that for the foglights. If anyone knows a way to shut off the warning or trick the car into thinking everything is correct, please let me know. Here is a full auto scan if it is needed.
