As the title really, can anyone shed some light on how to adjust the idle speed on the Simos 7.1 ECU? It's in my 2005 A3 1.6 with the BGU engine. It idles around 640rpm and I'd like to adjust t to 800rpm if possible. In the documented adaptation channels the idle speed is shown as 128 but any other value entered simply shows error.

Then it probably requires a Login or Security Access code to allow changes to that channel. Unfortunately, those tend to be very hard to find, and even with it, many ECUs limit the changes to a small range such as +/- 50 rpm.

I have the security code :)
I guess I'm stuck at 640rpm though :(
If you can't change the idle speed after entering it, you don't have the correct one for that function. It's not going to be the same as the one for immo functions.

Ah I see. I have the IMMO code, you're right. Must have a dig on the web and see if there is a generic code for other functions. Having said that, I'll happily pull the ECU and read the eeprom direct. Maybe it'll be in there.

Autodata says 685 +/- 65 rpm is normal idle mode for this engine.
I'm too lazy tonight to switch on another computer, but somehow I remember I've seen some very similar figures in another sources, too.

Yes it is normal, but I'd like to speed it up a little bit to help with slightly rough idling. It idles perfectly with the A/C on as the idle speed is increased to around 900rpm but I don't want the A/C on all the time.
