oil service reset question

hi
just serviced my daughters audi a3 2.0tdi 8v model.
oil service schedule is on flexible and i would like to change it to annual oil changes.
the 8v uses the uds protocol.
any help appreciated

My mk7 shares the same build platform as your daughter's A3 8V - both are MQB with UDS. Whilst my mk7 also has flexible service capability(ESI), for some unknown reason (probably related to giving more revenue for the dealers), it uses fixed service (FIX). Here are the relevant adaptation channels for ESI/FSI in the instrument control module - address 17:



My understanding is that the crucial setting is the oil quality channel. If this is set for "poor oil quality" and the car has ESI capabilities (see Engine Byte/Bit below and the PR code QGI), then FIX service results.

i will try to look at the car again today, its not here right now.
from the screenshot does the "FIX: Maximum time until next time-dependent inspection 365d" refer to the oil change service

changed the oil quality setting to "poor oil quality" and this does change it to annual oil changes
