Hi It's me again!
I have An Audi A3 in that was crashed and repaired(not by us)
But the guy is a bit vague on what was changed.
The fault as described by him is the warning lights on the dash.This car is not fully reassembled so there are faults for hvac etc.
but most if not all are for parts yet to be fitted etc.

The main fault is with the abs here is a copy of the auto scan.
I hope I get this right!

Comments/corrections are welcome but this MK60EC1 coding is still present, and those controllers dump/zero their coding when they aren't happy, so I suspect the 01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded is directly related to the rack:

The 19-CAN Gateway is coded for a RHD (and the wiper motor is a 8P2 part number) but that 1K0 #44 module looks like a LHD module to me. Either that ... or it is a used rack with entirely wrong characteristic curves which could be conflicting with the ABS.

Again, comments/corrections welcome ... but I would be tempted to unplug (or pluck fuses to) that rack and see if the ABS quits complaining about incorrect coding.

I am by no means an expert on all things coding for the mk60ec1 ABS module, but I'm getting an impression that the ABS module might of been involved with a Skoda at some point.

This is just speculation on my part, I'm not confident enough to call it as fact... just putting out there on the table. If any one can confirm, let me know. If I'm wrong, then it confirms my first statement... "by no means an expert". :P

Just talked to the repair shop
the car was a stolen recovered so no crash damage
it was a s line and the s line kit was stolen including the interior seats and trim and the bumpers and the roof rails etc.
but no mechanical parts were changed.
after talking with the bodyshop some more, it turns out the car came in from the insurance company with no key and the guy who supplied and programmed the new key had a lot of problems doing so. he then gave up and left it and thats how it ended up here.
pulled the main fuse for j500 and rescaned the car and got this

I guess I'd be looking at the BCM first and also the wiring to the steering rack. If they're present and accounted for and there's no obvious wiring or connector issues, check that they're getting power as they should be.

thanks for the reply
The body shops main concern was the lights in the dash.(steering wheel and traction) But I made the mistake off getting caught up with the incorrect coding fault.
Once I went back to the beginning and reconnected the main fuse for the j500(steering rack) and then followed the procedure for basic settings of the rest of the codes then the lights in the dash went out
so now all we have is the one code in abs.(the other codes are because the car is not fully assembled)

That seems to be a glitch in VCDS. Not a really a big problem. We'd be much more concerned if it didn't show up at all. ;)

I would make sure WAUZZZ8P1CA066247 is the actual VIN on the windshield and door jamb before sending it to the dealer for online coding but that is the best bet at this point.

thanks Dana,it has the right vin alright.
The Only thing now is the coding. I had a look at the long coding helper on vcds and there it only lists the last four block,s but even then it say's 80=rhd 40=lhd and in the box is 82. so it looks like he wont have a car for xmas!!
