I recently purchased an ACC retrofit kit for my 2017 Golf. I took it to VW and they gladly obliged with the install of the kit. First issue they ran into was the Combo switch would not fit properly. I took it upon myself to source one from a North American golf with factory cruise control. Next problem, they got everything installed and looking factory BUT even VW can’t code it to the car. They said the codes don’t work and they called their tech support line and were informed that it would not work in the North American market for whatever reason.
The only thing I can think to do is get an ECU from a wrecker out of a golf that has factory cruise control.

What are your thoughts?

It's not issue about coding the ecu. It's appling FEC codes. If you change ecu, those will get wiped and replaced with your current ones.
