How to remove static speed limiter on VW Crafter 2.0 tdi cktc engine

Hello everyone,

I am a new user on this great forum. I am a car mechanic and mostly like troubleshooting on cars.

Hope to be able to help people on this forum and also like to ask for help when needed.

For now some advice is appreciated in this case :

How to remove the static speed limiter on this VW Crafter 2.0 tdi year 2012, ecu is bosch edc17c54 by VCDS ?

Tried engine ecu--> security acces 12233--> adaption , there are three channels there : 1. Static speed limit, 2.Activation of static speed limit, 3. Deactivation of static speed limit.

When I select option 1. and try to change value 90 kmh/h to 160 km/h i get massege request out of range.

Same issue when I choose option 2 , try to change "On" to "Off" , and option 3 : change value to 01 or 00 or other value

What is problem here : need other security code ?

Hello, you got me wrong.

I am not trying to let you do illegal work for me , just by sending pm.

This car was on truck driver license (5.0 tons) , so speed limited by law. In many countries it can be downgraded legally to small driver license . Nothing illegal about this.

This car is now legally on small drivers license. Only thing is, the speed limiter must be removed in workshop. Therefore you need to know the way how to do it . 10 years ago on edc15/ edc16 it was not that difficult, but working on edc17 is other kind of job . That's what my question was about.

Additionally, if a 5.0 tons panel van will be converted into a camper the maximum legal speed in Germany is 100 km/h instead of 80 km/h, in France it's 110 km/h. On top of this a speed limiter by legislation is not required on camper vans. Because of this for the Sprinter family removing a speed the limiter is a regular job done by MB contracted work shops after licensing the vehicle as camper. With the popularity of the new Crafter I assume in future there will be more questions like this.
