engine cranks , won't start. readings of scan. coolant temp group 01 coolant temp G62 -40.C group 6 intake air temp G42 7.0 C. The car setting a day. Ambient temp 50F. Should both temp be close. ??? Group 6 engine speed G28 while cranking no change 0/min.
I replaced crank sensor by oil filter, coolant sensor 4 term by cyl head in plastic housing.
Still crank but no start. I scan and here is the reading.

16705 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
P0321 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal

Readiness: 0110 1101

I cleared codes. and now have coolant sensor G62 7.0 C and air temp 11.0C G42 and seen some reading from engine speed G28, but it didn't stay long during cranking.
Can I read fuel injectors pulse? what should the reading be? What group #? Is fuel pump pressure given? Can I read a cam sensor? Asking for help. Ross-tech is good scan tool but I'm not utilizing it to it's fullest. I need some guidance. Thanks for your help. Lloyd

You have replaced the crankshaft position sensor, but you are still getting a fault code for it? Have you checked/tested/verified the wiring to it? Where did you get the sensor itself?

I'd start with the errors it gives you before looking at the fuel pump pressures.
The G42 sensor is intermittent, so it could disappear and come as it pleases. the other two are permanent.
due to emissions, the engine can only consume fuel when a certain engine speed is reached by the starter.
did you clear the errors? do they come back?

i'd also have a look at fuses and wiring by WD and RTFB
basically JPPSG

Hello OP and welcome to the VCDS forum.

Please post full auto-scans.

I see you have a G28 code and a mix of high circuit codes related to temp sensors.

Does engine start with carb cleaner sprayed in intake to verify fuel vs spark condition?

Is ground enhancement TSB been performed on coil pack and for G28?

A review of the WD in RTFB is recommended for shared tracks or isolation of the components by unplugging & logging changes in the G28 output.
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Official_Factory_Repair_Information <<<<<<<<<< PRINT TO PDF!

Coolant maybe contaminated becoming an electrolyte that results in this type of DTC, in addition to possibly a bad ECT or coolant contamination across the sensor since shared for the ECU and Cluster. Also the color of the sensor for ECT should be green not black as per TSB of this old generation of AZG!

LOG G28 while cranking and parts shared DTC's unplugged for RPM verification!

G28 should be inspected for oil contamination that brings fragmented metal with oil & also being conductive to connector to create a corrupt pulse reading & by means as a wick from plain old age of blow by and over filling with oil or gasoline contaminated oil from running fat form IAT and ECT issues.

Smell sump stick for gas vapor odor!

Check intake TV for oil residue and pipe!

JPPSG is advised for process as is the WD section and PCV vapor PSI.

Thanks for the reply. In the first post above, is a scan after the 2 sensors replaced but "clear codes" was done after the above posted scan.
codes checked after cranking several times. no codes present, no run either. Will it post a code during cranking? Thanks Lloyd

Get that suspect FOD G28 out of that engine or check ECU for water ingress and or harness/rodent damage

16705 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
P0321 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal
