No fault code found.Hi looking for some advise with this vw caddy that has a intermittent problem with the power steering not working, red steering light on and rock hard steering, sometimes you can clear codes and the steering will return to normal, you can drive for a few miles fine but when you switch off and come back awhile later the problem returns.
The fault code i'm having trouble with is the 16372 I can't find any good info for this.
Is this the control module on the steering rack itself?
Wiring diagram shows a 80a fused wire to the electric motor and a ground point behind the left headlamp.
A 3 pin plug with can bus high and can bus low and also a 15a fused switched feed. Is this wire the power for the module I guess it is? I've done a good wiggle test on the wiring to see if I can get it to drop out but my test light stays bright. Could this be an internal short/open in the module also causing the other fault codes. I know you can't change the steering angle sensor on these the whole rack has to be swapped out so I need to make the right call.
