My check engine light has come on about once every 9 month since I purchased this Audi A6 4 years ago. I clear the faults and reset the readiness and it works fine for another 9 months.
I'm running XP and I updated to rev. 17.8.0 yesterday.

I reset my usual check engine light, and when I get to Cat conversion bank 1&2, the test comes on for about 10 seconds and then turns off, no matter how long I hold down the brake and gas pedals. I did this in both automatic and manual modes. In Manual mode the Basic Settings turns off after about 10 minutes. I don't get a failure, I just don't get a completed test.

Is this a software glitch, or is this happening because my cats are shot and the sensors are sending a piece of data that shuts off the test?
Any input is welcome. Thank you in advance.

Example, Bank 2 readings in group 47 manual mode Basic Settings: ON.

2160rpm, 640 Degrees C, 0.27, Test On
10 seconds later
2160rpm, 640 Degrees C, 0.39, Test Off

About 10 minutes later Basic Settings: OFF

Not to leave this thread hanging...I borrowed a friend's new PC with Windows 10 and the tests ran fine. Cat conv. test bank 2 kicked out a "system not OK" error.
Fault: 16915 - Warm Up Catalyst; Bank 2
P0431 - 001 - Efficiency Below Threshold
Happy Thanksgiving!
