Thought I had all the components to use Audi Connect or a general data SIM card, I have the mmi in the Glove Box with the two SD card slots and the SIM in the middle. However no SIM card works. When I pulled the module out the the Purple Plug is empty. When research ERWIN I see that is to the Telephone Baseplate, amplifier, and to the antenna, which I guess I need to retro fit in.

Has anyone done this or have details on all the missing components? The car was from Canada originally so I guess they don’t have those items from the factory.

Since my original post:

Yes, the sim is in the car and activated, I can select online search but nothing is found and nowhere on the dash does it note online. When I goto the connection manager it shows SIM card in the data connection as active.

It's like there is no signal, the two purple plugs on the back of the mmi unit in the glove box have no wires from them and based on ERWIN that appears to be 1. the cellular antenna and 2 the GSM network antenna. In order to get the unit to read that the sim was there based on the prior post was a fuse was missing. in fuse panel c, slot SC16. (7.5AMP)

So I just need to buy an antenna/booster and plus that wire into the MMI and locate the Antenna in the back bumper/Truck areas, (left and Right) for each signal. Or is there there something else needed.

This is all I can find on the parts site: does this mean that the Wires go straight from the MMI to the two Antennas:

Resolved:

Was able to get just a data SIM card to work with a the addition of the Fuse and wires from the two Fakra connectors from the MMI unit to two antenna in the trunk. Have full LTE now.
