Hi all,
Hope you are well.
I have recently had the mechatronic unit on the family car (2013 Tiguan 2.0 TDI) replaced after the old one was smashed to pieces in a minor collision with a kerb
The unit was replaced with a brand new one with an exact matching part number and was then fit.
I expected it to need some form of coding to start working however the car seems to drive and charge gears as normal.
There is a flashing spanner icon on the currently selected gear so I checked this out using VCDS and can see the following fault code:
P175F 00 [047] - Basic Settings Not Performed
I've then found the following wiki page on how to run the basic settings. It's a DQ500 gearbox:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/DQ500_DSG_7-speed_transmission
My question is: What can happen if the basic settings process fails. Can it leave the car undrivable?
I am just wondering whether to run the process myself or take it to a local garage instead.
Thank you in advance for you help.
Hope you are well.
