2018 USA Tiguan R-Line LED lamps retrofit

Hello

We have 2018 Tiguan from retrofitting to full LEDs (R Line packet). Wiring is done by another workshop.

Situation now is only low beams works. No other lights.

So do you have any suggestions?

I watched another threads connected with this problems, and not found any solution (eg. https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?20695)

My idea now is to copy some adaptations from 4B module, maybe from this car: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?18164

Has the car got ACC (front distance sensor) and lane assist? What did it have prior to wiring the LED Headlights? Do you know what wiring has been done?

There are more errors here than only Headlights. Try clearing all faults are run another scan. I'd advise you to compare your settings with one from factory, assuming the wiring is correct? Do you have a backup scan prior to changes being made?

The thread you watching is mine and I have not done the retrofit yet. But have pretty clear idea what I would do.

For the wiring, you need to repin or make an adapter from 10 pin to 14pin. I believe low beam is the only wire that stays at the same position pin 5 on both 10-pin and 14-pin connector. In theory low beam will always work even if you don't do anything simply because its the same. Rest is slightly different connection which all go to BCM J519.

Once you are 100% + sure your connection is correct then you can proceed to coding. If you don't have good wiring you will go crazy figuring out coding.

For the coding (again I have not done it yet). Is to add all modules into CAN cateway. Code 4B module based on the autoscan you posted. Then you need to go to J519 and match adaptations

He mentioned this is a USA Tiguan which means the car must have standard halogen headlights with LED DRL. Which are also wired differently than halogen headlights in Europen Tiguans. In addition European LED headlights are wired differently than USA LED Headlights.

General note, one must be very careful and consider this when rewiring headlights. I hope that the shop that did the wiring realized that.

But be careful because that car has windshield camera which I assume you don't have. You will have to pick what you need or don't need.

There are some important things about these headlights. These are fully CANBUS controlled. That means: turn, DRL, high beams and parking lights are totally functioned by canbus. This needs to be connected by the 55 (xenonrange) or 4B (multifunctional module). Depending on this you need to get your wiring ok.

The wiring for 55 module is other that the 4B module. 29 39 D6 D7 no need to be coded in the gateway as the are subsystems recognized by the 55/4B module. This only need BF additional canbus (correct me if i'm wrong), I have not find this option in VCDS only ODIS.
