But I'm told that my Hex-Net is up to date. Where do I find the CFB & BL info?
VCIConfig will show them to you, but we don't have a Mac build of that ready, so you'll need something running Windows to use it.

Of course, I could also check the server...
[time passes]
You have CFB: 0.10, BL: 0.27, and DS: 0000050

VCIConfig would probably update your BL to 0.28, but this makes no perceptible functional difference.

Thanks, Uwe.

So the first digit of the Dataset is ignored and only the last 7 digits are important?

I was hoping I could use Codeweavers Crossover application to run the Windows applications but it looks like the last time any was tried was in 2012 and it failed to run on Crossover 12.

It's not ignored. It contains flags that specify what (if any) old data must be scrubbed and replaced. But the actual version info is indeed in the digits on the right.

Beta Versions:
These updates are optional. If you are unsure, you do not need to do anything, you can stay on the release channel. If you accept some risks and wish to test the latest stuff, you can switch your interface to the beta update channel via the advanced tab in VCIConfig.

* Support for new UDS loc descriptions
* Support for new dataset
* Fix to make DTC clear counting consistent
* Adds support for ROD clear option

DS 60000055

* Support for ROD clear option

The only way to get a new version into an interface for internal testing is to give it a new version number. Not every version that we test is going to be be made available to the public.

It's a mini factory reset for VCDS Mobile, just for the ASAM/ROD data cache. It zaps anything you've downloaded over-the-air within Mobile, or with the VCIConfig utility. It's really only needed if you're troubleshooting something to do with ASAM/ROD data within VCDS Mobile running on HEX-NET. It has nothing to do with VCDS on Windows, and it doesn't apply to HEX-V2 at all.

I just did a check for any updates and was told my Hex-Net was up-to-date. However, the CodeBlock version on it is V0.4411, while version V0.4417 is listed as the current one in Post 1 of this thread. Why am I being told my device is up-to-date?

APP Id (1) CodeBlock V0.4411 API V4
FW version: 0.254.
Dataset: 00000050

K1: OK
K2: OK
CAN: Testing
VCDS-Cloud: OK
Config: OK

Release channel vs. Beta...

Use VCIConifg to set yourself to Beta if you wish.

Ah, OK that explains it. I'll just stay with the release version. Thanks, Uwe. Oh, my computer is an iMac so I just use Firefox to connect.

during update of cb V0.4430 from cb V0.4427 the process locked up and now the hexnet is no longer functioning. Just has one red light blinking when I plug in usb cable to test or config. Anyway to recover it?

Does the Windows VCDS Interface Config Utility (VCIConfig) still retrieve the serial number ok?
If so, try this

funny that thread was exactly what was going on with my hex-net. I did the reboot everything and it started but would fail with an error code -8 or com error or something like that. I normally don't have upnp enabled on my core router to the internet but I enabled it and then comm to ross-tech update servers started to work again. I forgot this has happened to me in the past and I forgot to enable before I start the CB update.

Many thanks for the info.

I just did an update and I'm told I am up to date with the following:

CB: 0.4411
FW: 0.254
CFB: 0.10
BL: 0.28
DS: 00000050

Does that look good for the channel I'm on? In Post #1 it lists BL: as 0.27

Yes you are on release, so that is correct.

No, I'm fine with the release channel. My only concern was with the BL version discrepancy between what I was told I had and what was shown here
