I have been on a bit of a fools folly adding 4motion to my 2008 GTI. Functionally the swap is complete, and operational.
I have successfully coded the CAN Gateway for AWD and successfully completed adaption for steering angle, latitude/longitude acceleration, and brake pressure sensor.

The major remaining holdout is the ABS coding. See below for the Auto-Scan, I snipped out all the Addresses that were fine and not relevant to the swap.
I did swap in the complete ABS unit from a 2008 R32 and moved the jumper location in the 46 pin connector to match jumper location that was on the 46pin connector in the R32.

I am learning as I go here but there might be a 'long coding' component that I am overlooking for the ABS module, the generic coding: 0021128 is unchanged from when it was in the R32, and adding up all 'options' would remain the same value for the GTI.
I read in a thread here about re-coding with the same code to see if that would address the fault but even after a 'coding accepted' message the fault remains.

Additionally, I have not been able to adapt the proper coding to Address 01: Engine, Current:0403010818070160, attempted:04030108180F0160. Returns an Error 31: Out of range.

Any help or tips on where to work from here would be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to provide any other additional information or data captures needed.

There are some other faults shown in the Auto-Scan provided; system voltage, immobilizer, and fuel level sensor. I don't want to get into the weeds in this thread, I am mostly concerned about the ABS and Engine coding for now.
I think the voltage fault is a holdover from a dead battery and I have a plan for the fuel level sensor. Still don't know much about the immobilizer error as the car starts and runs fine. I didn't change anything with the cluster but I did have it pulled from the car while wiring into the plug for the secondary fuel sender.

I'd like to see the FULL autoscan - more for interest than anything :D

Is the car drivable currently? It runs OK?

I see the immo fault code... which is a little weird! Have you had the immo disabled, or maybe is that related to the ABS type change?

The ABS code for incorrectly coded/mechanical failure - I think that is related to a mismatch between coding and the wiring jumpers in the plug - Perhaps the GTI not coming with 345mm discs (17") means it should NOT be wired like the R32, and should is fact be jumpered for 312mm (16")???

Having said that, I have a 2006 Euro Golf R32 ecu in myTouran, with 312mm discs and the ABS is wired for 16"/312mm fronts (link) I have the same ABS as you. but with the R32 engine also, in a chassis it never came in, and 4motion that never came in the chassis :D

Do you have a scan from your car BEFORE you went mental on it? It should have had MK60 EC1, where you've changed "back" to MK60.

I don't know how much I can help. but I like how "special" you are - like me :D

Car runs good and is drivable, I have put nearly 50 miles on it already :D

I have swapped over the 17" brakes from the R32 as well. I had a totaled donor and took full advantage haha.

Not sure if I have a full scan or not, I didn't intentionally take one prior to the Frankenstein operation.

Thanks for the support! Its funny when I describe what I am doing/have done and people ask the inevitable "But why?". I found myself struggling for a good answer the first couple times.

"But why?"

:D Hahaha! I get that ALL the time!

Glad to hear it actually runs  Well done!

If it were mine, first I'd double-check the ABS jumper wires, then change it to the 16" type and see what happens.

Did you get to drive the donor prior to desecrating it? ;) Perhaps the ABS already had a fault?
