I have a 2002 beetle tdi I did a 5speed swap on. The cruise worked with the ECU still set for auto transmission. I just got VAG Com from Ross-Tech and followed the directions to change the code to manual to get rid of the CEL. After doing this my cruise no longer worked. I then followed the directions to turn cruise on and still have no cruise. I ran auto scan but can’t share at this time as I am on my phone and traveling. Auto scan showed codes for right front ABS and left rear ABS wheel speed sensor fault. No communication to transmission control module. Open circuit for radio antenna and speaker open circuit. Any idea?

At a guess (I'm by no means an expert) it looks as though the Gateway controller 19 is looking for the auto transmission. Did you remove the auto transmission from the installation list in controller 19?

This car is too old to have an accessible/modifiable Installation List.

What should be done here: The Gateway needs to be re-coded with the same value that's already there (00006) and preferably with a different WSC. This will cause it to re-learn what's actually installed in the car.
