Hi all,

With the 18.2.0 version of VCDS, I can't start the distance or time countdown to next oil change/service counters in the MFD. They just show as "-----".

Request: I'd like those fields to be counting down miles & days like they used to. Previous versions of VCDS allowed this.

Car is a 2014 Jetta GLI base, build date 7/2013, with the gen 3 ea888 (probably a very early build?). My cable is a Hex+Can, and running version 18.2.0.

I have a screen grab from the SRI reset screen, but don't have a web url to file it for linking to this post...and can't attach JPGs... I can email it.

The SRI reset screen has a top Operation drop-down with 2 options (reset ESI or Reset ESI and FIX) then 12 rows of channels, each having columns for "Description", "Current Val", "new Val", starting with:
row 1: ide00342-esi: Resetting ESI / ESI: service reminder status / reset / ---
row 2: ide00510-esi: distance driven from inspection / ESI: distance since inspection / 300km / ----
.....

rows 1 to 6 are ESI channels, rows 9-12 are FIX channels.

Rows 7 & 8 have no channel labels... and have descriptions of:
row7 : SIA: maximum distance to service / current val: --- / new val: -----
row8 : SIA:Maximum time to service / current val: ---- / new val: ----

I can't change any numbers on this SRI reset screen then push the "Do It" button. all I can do is pick one of the 2 operations and accept whatever values it does. That executed operation did reset the ESI and FIX numbers and they are incrementing with time & distance...but this does not show up in the MFD - which is a bummer.

if i remember correctly, after a reset the values in the mfd will display "----" until you drive the car and put a few miles on it.

Go to the SRI screen, let VCDS read the channels, then click [Add to logfile].

Paste the text from the log file here please.

FWIW, it's not unusual for clusters to show "----" for a while after an SRI reset.

In fact it is normal/expected behavior, if a car is set to flexible intervals. The cluster will take approximately 500 km for a basic calculation and before the user/driver gets to see the first values.

Okey Dokey. I did add that to the log on Sunday but forgot about it. On Sunday the counter was at 200km, now it is at 300 km. Maybe I just haven't driven far enough?
