Hi everyone,

I exchanged my RNS510 for an unlocked MIB2 Carplay. I also changed the gateway for a 7N0 907 530 BC / 7N0 907 530 AN.
All is working fine except that the clock stays at 0.00 on the screen of the MIB2.
I also don't have the "time and date settings" in the menu of the MIB2.

I have been told that my instrument cluster was too old (H05 / 0305) and that the minimum should be 04xx.
Can you confirm?

If it's the case, is it worth flashing / upgrade the cluster or change it for a newer one?
Where could I find the link for the flsashing?

Here is my autoscan:

The VW flashfiles information repository doesn't apparently list a direct flash for this cluster and anyway, this is something you can't do with VCDS.

On a side note: If you'd like to get OPS display back on the MIB2, you can swap the PDC module out for 1K8 919 465. An appropriate wiring adapter for it is available on Ali.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.
No problems for the OPS display, I have it.
I have all infos as on my RNS.
The only issue is the time/clock.

Thanks,

Laurent

Could be cluster SW ,
If radio is unlocked, you can easy install it to other car with different cluster SW and test

Thank you.
What could then be the issue?
- bad wiring of the old-to-new adapter?
- MIB2 software issue?

Bad wiring? Highly unlikely because everything else is working (is it?).

I see your 680B has a SW version of 0245. The latest SW is 0252. You could try updating to that. I had a 680B with this SW version in my B7 and clock worked fine.

Yes but I’m afraid that if I update, the component protection will come back and the app-connect will be disabled...

so you know what unit you have or not ?
patched , or unloked ?

but what cluster SW is in your car ?
clock data is only broadcasting from cluster

anyway - he know solution , w/o test with higher SW we can only talk and talk and talk .. and making more usseless conversation

I've seen the behavior even after updating to 253sw on the DM.
But with newer cluster the clock data is displayed correctly.
I have not done extensive testing so I can't tell you which sw versions might work, other than retrofitted 3d clusters in Passat B6 and Golf 5/6 work fine.
Newer black and white clusters in B6 work ok also (sorry don't know which version).
Gateway doesn't seem to make any difference. Tried with 7N0 gw and older black and white cluster and clock still shows 00:00 in DM.
With older DDP red cluster it also doesn't work (but also MFD functions don't work so you'd want to update cluster anyway)

A patched DM can be software updated via sdcard without affecting CP and FEC.
I don't know about software unlocked units.

I think it's patched as I did the retrofit in my Eos and do not have any CP issues and Carplay worked directly

My cluster is 1Q0 920 874 K / H05 / 0305
I'll try to find a 3D cluster or a newer white screen cluster

Where can I find the update via SDcard?

As I wrote month ago in golf 5 GTI with factory cluster everthing works fine, also time was right. In Golf 6 GTI with premium cluster (color mfa) SW 04xx also everthing is working well. In Passat B7 of my parents with b/w cluster and software 070x also everthing is working fine. So don`t think cluster is problem. Used DM PQ in my Golf 5 GTI with gateway 1K0 HW and also everthing is working as it should. So maybe bad patch of Infotainment

Time is not an issue if you have the correct cluster. Date however is not supported in the cluster.
besides of that, why doesn’t the DM use the GPS date and time. All that info is in the GPS signal.

As I wrote, same cluster, but with 253 SW on MIB not work, time is 0:00 and each minute 6:28. Without cluster changing, but with 478 SW on MIB it is OK and time is same as on cluster.
