Hi,

Look the two picts. I don't understand why I get this message:

"Vehicle not supported"
"News interfaces Ross-Tech are available"

I have an official wire Ross-Tech with last revision of software. My computer is XP.

Thank's.

What Ross-Tech cable do you have? Maybe a HEX-CAN?

Newer vehicles have some modules that require features that cannot be implemented in the older leads such as HEX-CAN, for those you need to upgrade to a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET.

Yes, he has a HEX+CAN from 2007.

It would be interesting to know just how new this car is.

From the screenshots it has an 8K0 907 063 DH BCM and an 8V0 920 750 that includes the description COMBI?

Yeah, we're scratching our heads wondering exactly what this car is. Some kind of reheated leftovers from the parts bin?

Well, the second pic looks like it might be an A3 of some sort. But then the car should have an MQB style BCM, and the first pic clearly isn't that. So I guess the most plausible explanation is that the two pics are from two different cars?

Yes. The shape of the reflected windows are different between photos... plus the embedded Exif data have a different 'date taken' tags.

Hi,

It is an Audi A3 8V 2019. I have ordered a wire Ross-Tech HEX V2 to french dealer. I get it soon an d I'll try it. One pict was the A3 2019 and the other an Audi A8 4H 2013.

For the pict of Audi A8 4H I don't understand why I have got the message. Perhaps what is in the memory?

@PetrolDave: there is no "upgrade" to get HEX V2.

That's an IMHO bad decision by the French distributor then - as purchases direct from Ross-Tech CAN be upgraded (but only the English version of VCDS is supported).

Then to fully use VCDS on the latest vehicles you will need to buy a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET at full price from the French distributor, and maybe sell your current HEX-CAN lead on an auction or VAG car owners site?

Has anybody bothered, why this popup also appears with the 8K0 control module? My understanding is, that those are completely diagnosable with the older interfaces.
I recently read about a lot of popups like this, where older versions of VCDS would work without problems. Could this be a bug with false positives?

Yes, I think the VIN must be staying in memory somehow after having worked on a 2019. This is the first case of confirmed false positive I've seen; all complaints on the forum and emails have been from Brits who think their transporter is a 2018 when it's a 2019 :)
Now that we have a 2019 car, I/we'll be able to test connecting a HUC and then going back to a supported model year.

Interessting. I found this one on Facebook. Basically it‘s the same message as above, only in German and on a 5K0 module, which should be supported, or isn‘t it?

Depends which car it's installed in. 2019 or SE/SK/VW27 would not be supported. Autoscan would help :)
If they scanned a 2019 and didn't autoscan the older, supported, car, symptoms would be the same. I'm working on fixing that.

It‘s Facebook ;) ... so an Auto-Scan was not added. The poster however stated that the screenshot is from a Golf MK6 2011 but the same happens in a Caddy 2012.
