Audi Q5 Security Login Not Accepted Using Wifi Option

Hi,

I had this vehicle in last week with Engine fault and did a quick scan using WiFi option and it would not accept login security code for adaptation and basic settings which is 27971 and 12233 tried few time but kept failing so thought of using USB cable and it did accept with out any problem so, I question is has any one come across this problem before.?

I have not seen such a thing, no.

Is there any possibility that you there was lock-time on the module (from entering incorrect ones) that happened to expire while you were making the switch from WiFi to USB?

When a UDS module refuses Security Access, the first thing to do is check:
IDE00323 -- Security Access: Number of invalid keys

If the value there is not zero, then you should wait until it is (with the ignition ON and a battery charger connected).

Thanks for the reply. NO there was NO lock time nor I did input wrong code there are only 2 security codes in drop bar 12233 and 27971 both did not accept while interface was in WiFi option as soon as I connected the USB Cable it did accept without even recycling the ignition key........

I will try this again when I get another vehicle and see if its still doing the same or not and report back...

I note the "12 V" level is at 11.0 V, which seems too low. Was the engine on?

I'm getting the 03041 code on my 2013 Q5 Hybrid, particularly when I scan with the engine off for a while (like overnight). I'm starting to wonder if the vehicle 12 V battery is dying. Low battery voltage with the engine off could cause a lot of weird problems - this happens on Priuses when their 12 V battery starts to die. On a Prius, if the 12 V battery dies, the whole vehicle is dead.

Same is true of most hybrids. There's a 12V circuit that needs to be energized in order to close the contactor for the hybrid battery.
