SSPs are documents to which VW/Audi asserts copyrights. We don't don't condone violations of such here.

So when the slave popped it didn't lose fluid huh........?

    The orders..........

Well Jack that last post amused me in a good way.

Yes I understand you trying to educate people, but it's very easy with the internet to end up following through multiple links to understand something, and then before you know it the old brain is fried with information overload and numerous interruptions. I'd love to be able to read and fully understand the manuals for everything that passes through here (multiple different brands of vehicles), and if it was a regular problem then we would try harder, but in reality I'll probably never have to try and fix one of these again, certainly not in the near future before the old brains forgotten it all

Anyway we've made progress, the old Mechatrocnic was dropped back today, so first chance I've had to have a good look at it, it is a self contained unit (photo's at end of the post). After looking at it I decided to look at the clutch actuators which once you move some items out the way are visible. I found a major problem, the push rod for the smaller clutch fork had come out, no idea why, perhaps it wasn't seated correctly in the first place.

As the gearbox specialist was here with the proper release tool he got it back into place and and the car now drives, selecting all gears, but will not complete basic training, it goes through the motions, reaches 4.0.0 we start the car, after a short while it fails with a 255, 87 code, the only code description I have so far found is Gangeinleg_Synchronpos. G6 Timeout which doesn't seem to translate. At the risk of sounding lazy could I ask if anyone knows what this means please?

The only fault code present in the vehicle is 005983, which is basic training not performed.

I've also discovered what that Bentley & SSP refers, nothing to do with Bentley Cars

As I've said all along the Mechatronic is a sealed unit, and we certainly shouldn't be pulling apart a new unit - this will void the warranty, here's a couple of pictures of the old unit.

PS. I've read the complete JPPSG Sticky, and yes I can confirmed we checked charging, battery etc ;-)
Glad you are amused.......UP! it's milk time!

Crikey this is hard work, Jack has spent god knows how many posts implying cryptically or otherwise I need to read manuals, I post a link to the Bentley website which appears sell ssp manuals, all I was asking for was a link to to where I could buy the manual, as I couldn't find it on the Bentley site which Jack keeps mentioning RTFB

    @NEtech thanks.

@Jack Thankfully no it did not loose the fluid, and no apparent damage either, very lucky.

Orders - I'll have to try that, I ventured out the office this afternoon as the fridge engineer wanted some info, got to the bottom of the stairs and the gear box engineer swooped, then one of the fitters, then one of the customers, and it's like this a lot of the time, it's good to be busy but it's very hard work and continually throws your concentration from one thing to another.

Yeah but when you lose a seal you gain air in a hydrostatic system....hmmmmm?

Just consider what happens to a clutch pedal when air is in the system newly installed & is limp dick until properly milked.

FOD starts again maybe re-read the JPPSG....

@Uwe I meant posting on here was hard work :-)

@Jack We didn't loose the seal, there was no sign of oil escaping, so I don't consider that air would have got into the system.

Okay if you say so.........I wasn't there, just basing off what little criteria information submitted.

Than consider the possibility.........You clearly make stuff hard on yourself by failing to obtain proper background before commencing with such a complicated repair.

I actually found a transmission workshop about 60 miles away very familiar with DSG's, the guy was very busy, but took the time to talk me - he actually rang me back, very helpful and polite. One bit of advice he gave was not to waste my time with the Ross Tech forums, he was absolutely right, this place is unbelievable! I left for work at 07:10 this morning, left work at 17:20, it's now 20:15 and I'm still involved with work and you want me to spend many days researching every single job we do! I don't think so, I have a life!

I'll get my coat and leave! Good bye!

This isn't my forum but don't let the door hit you in the ass because this one is now closed for me with your abuse being a parasite.

Good luck with your mission on "The search for the free magic answer ............"

I'm an asshole because I tried to help and point you to possibilities.....?
