    Smile MK7 - GTI - DSG logging shift times etc.

    Hello Everyone,

    I just recently got the new Hex-Net2 due to some issues I have been having with my DSG. I seem to be having trouble in up and down shifts from 1-2,2-3,3-4 and the VW dealership says they don't see anything wrong. I, however, can feel a delay in torque when the car shifts, both in D and in Manual modes. The stall/delay is there as I can feel it every time the car shifts and while it may not be enough for some to feel, when you drive a car for hours everyday that little issue starts to nag at you!

    In any case, I'm trying to figure out a way that I can monitor a parameter or module that will allow me to show the 'slip/delay' during shifts. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some pointers/guidance as I'm the last hope for this (dealer has had the car 3 times with no luck)

    P.S : Backstory

    2K miles : took it in and they said no problems
    4K miles: took it in again and told them of crazy peddal vibrations and the same shift problem (they said they checked fluid levels and everything is fine)
    7K miles: Took it in again and they just said 'its normal for the DSG' (which it is not, as I've driven other GTIs and they do not exhibit this)
    9K Miles: Performed a VCDS reset (via a friend) of all adaptations and followed the Ross-Tech Wiki for the re-adaptation for Clutch packs. This did help dramatically with the brake pedal vibrating, and the shifts *seemed* better for a day or two, but then went right back to its old ways.

    Thank you EVERYONE/ANYONE in advance for your help. I'll be combing through everything over the next few days to see what I can find and monitor, but any help is appreciated

    Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see exactly what TCM you have, what software it has in it, and so on.

    OK, there's a crazy amount of data you could log from that transmission, but I'm not sure what would best represent "shift times".

    Maybe start with both shaft input and output speeds?

    I'll grab those and monitor them and see what I get. I haven't used VCDS much, so I'll have to read up and see how to do this.

    After logging the params, it doesn't seem that I can deduce the shift times from the rpms of the input andn output shaft. Is there a way to get a list of what modules are available so that I can go through everything and start trying different things?(ie, is there somewhere I can input my transmission model or module # and see what parameters I can monitor?)

    Also, I tried to find a way to speed up the logging so that I can capture more information (I read about a TURBO feature) but was unable to do so. I'm using the Advanced Measuring Values option and did not see anything that stated TURBO.

    I know I can connect to the car and go through a list, but that requires me sitting in my car for a long time. I was hoping for a web-site or forum that after entering in the correct model or serial (or whatever have you), it would provide me with a list of params that I can capture.

    Not every module supports "Turbo" mode.

    Did you try "Group UDS requests"?

    You can also try to adjust some of the individual timing parameters on the Options screen. See our FAQ Entry 4.8.

    I did not try the group UDS requests option. I will try that again today on my way home from work.

    I'll be sure to read up on the individual timing parameters to see if I can coax some more info out of them.

    As a quick Q, how were you able to find those parameters to tell me to watch if there is no lookup? I'm guessing that you may have that feature, but nothing is available to the public yes?
