Hey Guys,

Im running to this issue for more than a month and seems like there i got totally stuck into it.

Ill try to be as short as possible.

The gear stick and the display of the gears are completely messed up. The gear stick sometime is displaying N in Neutral sometimes is showing P, then the D sometimes is showing D sometimes N sometimes P. The R is almost displaying P and the tiptronic sometimes is OK sometimes is N sometimes is P.

I've run the Gear Actuator Adaptation and always is ending on RTFM error 12, but whenever i run it the situation on the gear stick is changing.

I've already changed the Potentiometer on the gear stick and then i found out the the plug itself when slightly touched its changing gear so i removed the plug and made a direct connection to the Potentiometer, now its not changing gears when i touch the plug but still its all messed up.

I was hoping that i would be able to reset the values with the VCDS and try to setup the new values so the Gear stick can read the new positions and remain like that but i found out that is not an optional.

Anyhow all the transmission parts have been removed, cleaned, checked, returned and im still in this mess.

By the way when i run the Gear Actuator Adaptation physically the Gears are being changed properly/accurately without any issue.

So is there anyone over here who could save me with this transmission issues with the Lupo cuz i lost all my faith already.

Thank you,

P/S below are the fault codes (presently) because they are changing as well.

2 fault Found:

00838 - Valve 3 for gear Selection (N286)
35-00 - -
00263 - Transmission
20-00 - Malfunction in Basic Settings

The DS085 is a very unusual transmission. It was only used in the Lupo 3L and the Audi A2 with the same drivetrain. It is not something very many people are familiar with.

I would start with eliminating and repairing faults one-by-one, then try basic settings as the very last operation, when everything is repaired.
For example clearly electrical fault:
Code:
01612 - Valve for Clutch Actuator (N255) 36-00 - Open Circuit
P.S. This car has 1,4l 55kW TDI engine, not 1,2l.
P.P.S Use more readable format for posting autoscan, please, use notepad, for example ;)

To anyone else searching on the same topic... for me the whole issue came out to be the cable connecting the valves on the transmision ... its a tree of cable with many plugs 6 i believe and its above the exhaust which after some time is messing it up...from hot/cold... so its good place to start... tnx
