Hi All,
just mounted on my TT 2015 a couple of 340 mm front brakes from TTS model. Original was 312 mm.
I was wondering if an ABS recoding is necessary to update the brakes size.
The issue is that coding has no long coding helper. Any hint to update this ECU coding ?

Theoretically in MY2015 (and a lot earlier already) ABS is not anymore just a system detecting blocked wheel and releasing it, keeping on the edge of slipping to achieve maximum braking efficiency. It is complicate system for road safety helping driver to control his car in several situations. For correct work of this system ABS/ESP electronics should know all the mechanical parameters of brake system parts to divide brake force between wheels correctly. That's why coding should be changed when retrofitting mechanical parts with different parameters. ABS/ESP long coding has complicate calculation including a lot of parameters and a VIN code of vehicle. At this time how far I know, it is possible only with dealers ODIS online for this type of ABS/ESP control modules, but I'm not sure will it work with retrofitted different parts.

So you're telling me that recoding is a must in this case, since brakes diameter is greater, but you don't know if the dealer can do it too ..
You're thinking also that stability of the vehicle is compromised ?

Is it correct ?
