I mean viewing it with the red DIS screen inside the car, not VCDS. I can see it fine in VCDS. I was just browsing the menus in the car and stumbled across the VIN number, well what was supposed to be the VIN anyway!

What does MVB 081 in that instrument cluster show?

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

It shows WAUZZZ8P45A146497 which matches the actual number of the car itself.

Indeed! I got to thinking that this number was obtained from the ABS controller long coding. I'm still trying to sort that one as you know.

You will never sort ABS controller coding unless repairing the Cluster/Immobilizer to display the correct VIN # for the correct PC & to broadcast as a needed precondition.

    Hey Jack,

That's the thing though, the ECU, IMMO and cluster all show the same VIN. It's a strange one

    Yet....

so something VIN related isn't right.

If the cluster is showing this then maybe it's sending "scrambled" VIN data to the ABS?
