Conceptually not that different than the temperature "gauge" that shows a rock-solid 90C anywhere between about 70C and 110C -- and VWAG has been doing that for decades.
The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Since i mentioned the Beta in this thread, here goes:

Put the .exe that matches your install in the 17.1 folder. Go to Applications->History Data:
    ,
pick the address where your BDM/BEM resides (typically 61 in the older cars, 19 in the newer ones?):

hit Start and if everything goes well, you should get something like this:

    Code:
    ;Tuesday,14,February,2017,17:08:17:18206
    ; Address 19: CAN Gateway

    for Katie's 4F.

Seeing how differently the modules behave between the two cars, I wouldn't be shocked if it's not quite there yet on the A8 or earlier 8Ks.
As far as interpreting the data, Niels is already working on a LCode-style app to do this, in the meantime those who send us data will get back a document on how to interpret it.
This version will autosave a file like "Hist-19-8R0-907-468-P-20170214-1708.txt" in the logs folder, email us (support@ross-tech.com) that plus a Debug 1024 (put 1024 in Options->Debug Level before you use this new function) from whichever controller you picked (typically DEBUG19.DLM or DEBUG61.DLM from the Debug folder).
I don't expect the user interface for this to be final since Uwe hasn't seen it so suggestions are welcome but don't be offended if they're ignored

You remind me of myself 16 years ago, braving the night and the cold to test Uwe's KWP-2000 code on the 2001 Octavia's ABS

Beta updated to 17.2.0.2 (same download link) thanks to your early feedback:
    -Fixed hiccups with HEX-USB+CAN
-Improved display of retrieval progress on Open Controller screen
-Beta actually self-identifies as a Beta now

Howsabout a TabControl for each of the history items, then a ListBox for each line of the history, that then is parsed by a file that Niels produces?

Did you make a Microsoft Access database to display the data like that?

I'm talking about the screen from Zenerdiode

It was created using Microsoft Visual Studio.

As a (improved in my opinion) variation on Zenerdiode's screen layout I would recommend using a TreeView on the left with a node for each record for a better UIX instead of load of tabs which can be a pain to have to scroll through if there are more than a page widths worth of them.

    Just my 2 pence worth
