New Hex V2 user - need some help please

hi new to the forum and also a new user of the hex V2 (great piece of kit):):)

i have a 2007 audi a3 2.0 tfsi quattro

the problem i have with my car is to do with my bluetooth (i.e - my phone cannot find the car)
and also my "voice command" and mode button on my mfsw do not work anymore...:banghead:

so i did a full auto scan on the car the other day and it came up with a fault to do with the voice recognition module and when it got to module 77 for the telephone it just kept spinning (the cursor mouse) and ended up freezing so had to come out of vcds
just couldnt get it to scan 77 telephone

my question is if it is my voice reconition module that is fried
1. where abouts is it located in the car
2. would that cause my phone to not find the cars bluetooth or is it my bluetooth module that is faulty
3. why does vcds seem freeze on the module 77 telephone

i know these are niggly bits but they are really frustrating:banghead:

any help/advice would be greatly appreciated:thanks:

Welcome aboard.

Let's start with some administrative things. First: Please don't bump after like an hour and a half; traffic in this forum isn't heavy enough to warrant that. Second: Please see How to Register a HEX-V2 Interface. Once you do that, we can make you a Verified user here and move this thread to the Car Repair section.

Now the lack of comms with 77 may be a HEX-V2 issue. Those telephone modules were always a pain to talk to. Moreover, I'm not sure exactly where/how Voice Recognition is implemented in that car. In fact, I have to ask, are you sure the car has it?

I will have to double check later the registration once i get home from work.

Im fairly sure i have it as it all used to work i.e the bluetooth worked so i could connect my phone and also my "mode button" and "speak button" on my steering wheel..

Do you think i havent got sds installed then uwe and if not would it be my bluetooth module that would cause my mode button and speak button not to work? They did used to work

Did you change the coding on the HVAC or Telephone modules?
Do you have an old scan to compare?

It is haha and to answer your question i have never changed the coding on anything as not too sure whats what with it if that makes sense. And i have a scan that a guy did and he also couldnt pick up the bluetooth.. i will double check soon and upload the first original scan that i had done.

Maybe 1 :
The problem is in the voice control module and like Uwe said there is a bug in VCDS which won't let you communicate with Telephone module.

Maybe 2:
The problem is (also) in the voice control and that problem is causing the lack of communication with telephone module.

I don't know if this can be done. But worth a try.
Try to disconnect the voice control module (not sure if you already know where it is!) and see if with it disconnected you can communicate with telephone.

Also, you can try the inverse:
Try to disconnect the telephone and see if with it disconnected the voice control error can be erased.

Is there a way to sort out the bug in vcds? I dont actually know where the voice control module is to be honest. Do you happen to know.
I have tried with the bluetooth module disconnected to erase rhe vlice control fault but it doesnt work :/

Are you sure that the voice control module is not the telephone module?

Language input control unit -J507- is a separate module. Usually next to the telephone/telematics control unit under the front seat. In VCDS it should be at 0x66, but does not appear in your autoscan?? Check fuses, water ingress. The fault was logged in 2015, has a previous owner been messing?

Thanks for the reply matty.. looking at that picture.. i dont have that other box next to my bluetooth module. And no one else has messed with my car i.e with vcds however the 2015 is probably when it stopped working on me..
No signs of any water ingress either so perhaps it may all be linked in to my bluetooth module?

Just had a look at my scan again and the fault for my voice recognition module (j507) is under (auto hvac)
