I tracked down the Blink cycle to the following parameter:
ENG10577-ENG116587-Ausenlicht_Blinker-Komfortblinken Blinkzyklen
Here it does indicate the standard blink cycle: 3
Normally I should be able to change this between 1-5, but I cannot get this to work, blinking stays at 3x
Does the new value (something other than 3) stay in there?

Have you tried the "Soft Reset" option next to the [Do It] button?

After setting the comfort blinking cycle via the adaptation you have to reset the light controls in your navigation system to default for the change to take effect. Simply de- and reactivating the comfort blinking is not enough.

The reason is, that comfort blinking is controlled by both, user setting (albeit not having an option for that), and the value in your BCM adaptation. Thus you need to overwrite the invisible user setting with the adaption value using the "reset to defaults" menu entry.

Correct. It should be in there:
CAR > Setup > Reset to factory settings > Reset individual settings > Light

that was indeed the trick to get the comfortblinking working!
Adapted the first post to reflect the update!

Next steps:
Active Lane Assist

This will be a difficult one to code, since a lot of modules are involved!
But I should have all required hardware to support...
(I have Dynamic Light Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, so camera should be ok...)

Any other tips or tricks?

All modules required are there, so it should be easy to activate. Notice that your Front Sensor (A5) is a MFK_B_MQB so the coding is a bit different from what you might find in the Internet - but only in that module.

For the Front Sensor (A5) beeing a MFK_B_MQB, do you know what the difference is?
One thing I know is that there is a version limited to ~160km/h and another one that allows >200km/h

My car limits the cruisecontrol to 160km/h, so i assume belgium imports the lower-end version, as we even cannot choose.
Would this limit the capabilities of lane assist in any way?

Enabling of Lane Assist should work as follows (writing from memory, so no guarantee):
  • Coding > Byte 16 > enable Bit 3 and 7

When l look at Dana's scan of a Golf Alltrack here, some Adaptions have to be set:
  • IDE10870-Switch-on condition: lane depart. warn. > on (setting via menu)
  • IDE10871-System mode: lane depart. warn: > Steering wheel vibration not active
  • IDE10872-Warning intensity: lane depart. warning > Medium
  • IDE10407-Personalization of intervention moment at T. 15 on > Last setting

Remeber to enable adaption via SA displayed in VCDS. The other modules are the same as with other vehicles (Golf 7 etc).

I guess so. The Passat B8 uses a "midline" ACC sensor (MRRevo) in combination with the Front camera (which therefore has to be a MFK_B_MQB, as far as I understand). The speed limit is somewhere in those two modules I guess. However it's neither coding nor adaption, so might be parameters or even software version.

Hey,

looking for some further adaptations (have not yet done the lane assist, on my todo list when I have a full day to implement and test)

I would like to enable the rear lights in DLR mode as in following video:

Not sure, which lights; should be something in line with Leuchte23 and Leuchte24. Just add the light function Tagfahrlicht/Daylight running lights and you are done. Should be very easy.

Thanks for the pointer, seems Leuchte23 and Leuchte24 are the outer 'stripes' of the rear lights, not the rings.
See the youtube vid at ~50sec what I mean with outer stripes.


After some searching I found that the rear outer rings are enabled through Leuchte16 and Leuchte17
So added the lightfunction Daylight running lights to lightfunction D16 and D17 and it works! Thanks!
