How to code out/remove air bag control module

I wouldn't doubt NEtech had to dig, either in the factory repair manual ... or deep into a bag of tricks. Either way, he contributes regularly to the actual VCDS label files on an internal level and helps customers in forum frequently so I trust his suggestions and value his opinion. I would try his suggestion and if it doesn't help you can revert back.

Oh, no I didn't mean it to sound like I was doubting NEtech. I've made the change already but was just trying to work out what was meant to change, was it to do with airbag or traction control light (or both)? Couldn't see any change with faults etc hence the question

Can you answer if somebody changed coding ?

The coding does not look correct for that VIN, with the former engine (source partslink, etc.). That was the reason I asked.

"It changes to" same ABS with BJX engine, which I have in an Autoscan and can look up at some data, for that ABS and engine.
If there should be an pop up help for coding's, it probably would need a bigger area as your screen.

Maybe it could remove DTC's in ABS.

Maybe not helping, but no harm testing, try:

coding [19] with same coding.
In [01] save channel 00 in [Adaptation-10]
coding [01] with same coding.
Ignition of 10 minutes.

I don't know to be honest. Quite possibly, as the ABS was changed.

The module you have there appears to be just an ABS with ASR, but no ESP? Is it the correct module for this car?

Ah that would indeed make sense (Doh!). Thank you.

So what else can I do at the moment? Other than work through the wiring to clear the airbag fault - what about this error: "18055 - Check Coding of ECUs on Powertrain Data Bus P1647"
