Hi,

Been looking at upgrading the cluster in my mk6 golf R to a 3d colour but for my car they are extremely expensive and I dont want to just fit a tiguan cluster as mine has a 200mph speedo.

I have noticed there are a few mk7 golf R's being written of so the clusters from them are becoming available and are cheaper (currently one on ebay for £180)

Is it possible to retrofit the mk7 into my mk6 in size and functionality?

I know I will need to find someone to fix the immo and set the milage but I'll cros that bridge when I come to it.

Thanks

At this moment not possible, and I doubt if it will ever be.

Mk7 system compared to mk6 has:

1. Completly new IMMO system
2. Component protection
3. Different communication method with car and fewer signal wires.
4. Completly different covers, that cannot fit into mk6 dash.
5. New type of transponders- change of keys needed.
6. There is no tool on the market that can calibrate milage or learn keys (beside OEM) in clusters made after 06/2014.

I think that is all...

Buy any 06xx software cluster and swap dials + send to software upgrade. I know 2 guys who can make it.
