I've tried to modify some settings in 09: Cent. Elect. for a Polo 6C (2016 1.0 TSI BlueMotion). When i try to enter the LongCoding it said i've got to send you guys an AutoScan.

When i click Ok i can enter longcoding and see all bytes/bits but not one text label is showed so i can't figure out what i am doing ;)

I ordered your cable some months ago, and still figuring things out, when i tried the Adaption in 09: Cent. Elect. to change the cominghome function it said i need security access, maybe i'm a newb here, but how can i get access to this settings? ;)

The Autoscan:

Johan: Hello and welcom to the forum. Your observations and your auto-scan confirm that the BCM on your car does not yet have a Ross Tech "label" file (look at the first line in your auto-scan for the BCM which says: Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: Redir Fail!). This just means that the busy Ross-Tech folk have yet to formally map the control module in your car onto their standard nomenclature which populates the entries for the long coding helper screens. Probably just work-in-progress and I'm sure that the label file will be available soon!

In the interim, if you know which Byte/Bits to change, you could use the coding screen to make the alterations - without the long coding helper screen.

As to your question about access security codes (affectionately called SA on this forum), these are unfortunately a closely kept secret by the good Burghers at VW head-office (for any VAG vehicle). I suspect that the boffins at VW argue that the great-unwashed-public are better-off not knowing these codes for their own safety, but I'm tempted to believe that the real reason for keeping these codes secret is to ensure that clients pay the dealership for stuff that should be done by others (yes- it's a good conspiracy theory, but alas it fits with my observations of VW's corporate ethic)

So, the sad fact is that information about SA codes is as rare as rocking-horse-sh#t in the public domain (especially for new models)! SA codes appear to be disclosed to us mere-minions in the general public by various nefarious means and it's invariably a long slow discovery process. My suggestion is that you don't hold your breath waiting for disclosure of SA codes for the Polo - it will almost certainly be a fatal exercise!

However, I have observed that your Polo 6 C shares many of the features of my Golf mk7 where the module network is concerned (notwithstanding that the Polo is not built on the MQB platform). The two models are not identical in this regard, but there are remarkable similarities!

So, if you want to experiment, you could try the SA codes from a mk7 - as a suggestion. HERE is a list of these codes for the mk7 (incidentally, the SA for the BCM for the mk7 is 31347). Please be aware that if you enter an incorrect SA, the control module may lock-out for a period which is measured by the time that the ignition switch is turned-on.

Don

PS: Below is a video explaining the missing label file - why it happens and what to do:

Many thanks for your help so far, for now i will wait for the new label files since i'm not yet a experienced VCDS user ;) (it's now my own car ;))

Still one question left, can i figure out if the right label files are present (after the next update) before calling my friend's Polo back for modifications?

Johan:What an excellent question!!

I'm not sure that I know the answer, but if you look at the modules in your auto scan that do have these files, you will note that the associated label file has either a LBL, or CLB extension.

All of these files live in the Ross-Tech/VCDS or, Ross-Tech/VCDS-Beta directory (depending on which version you use). A quick look in this directory will confirm that the (ageist) folk at RT arrange label files in geriatric sub-directory order and the latest generation files are kept in the Labels sub-directory (not surprisingly).

If you search and find a file in this sub-directory that has a title containing 6C0 937 (this is the first part of your BCM number) then it's a fairly safe bet that you are good-to-go. However, sometimes the crafty (and ageist) RT folk use a "related" number indicating the general type of the module, rather than the specific module number - so your search in the "Labels" sub-directory might need to be more intelligent!

Or, you could abandon this approach altogether and simply ask the kind (and ageist) folk at RT when the new SW is released! I've done this a couple of times in the past (on different and various topics) and RT's reply has always been characterized by its patience and forbearance - so it's always a good thing to do IMO.

I will take a look at the label files anyways (worth a shot i guess)
Where should i ask RT for this information? Send them an email or use this forum? (so far they don't reply to this thread, will they read this and answer me here?)

I'm still new to the forum so i don't really know how things are going around here ;)

Johan: You could do either. Notwithstanding that it's been me that has responded, the wise folk at Ross Tech keep an ever watchful eye (two eyes, I suspect) on the mental meanderings of all responses on this forum (thankfully). So, when asking questions on this forum, you can be assured of their ubiquitous presence!!

Hi All,

I was about to post a question but it seems to overlap this thread. Anyway here's the background :
My father's Polo 6C has been happily beeping away when ever locked since I coded it ... until it went into the dealer for a software update. This was to stop the hazards going off if the car was left unlocked (or something!?!).
Tonight I went to reapply it. I'm sure if was just a case of enabling in the long code helper but it doesn't seem to match now.

I've taken a full scan if it's useful to anyone. Is this a known thing? Next time I round shall I just try the Mk7 Golf tweak which seems to be :
( Translation of http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/vw-golf-7/dwa-schaerfen-mit-horn-quittieren.php )

STG 09 (electrical wiring)
STG Access Permission -> Function 16
Enter free code 31347
STG Adjustment -> Function 10
(1) Select Enable feedback signal-acoustic feedback
Value to yes
(2) Select Confirmation signal-audible feedback
Value to yes
(8) feedback signal acoustic feedback is global
Importance to actively adjust
If desired, the DWA can in the menu control acknowledgment be independently enabled and disabled via the corresponding menu item:
(7) -Registration signal menu control acoustic feedback
Importance to actively adjust
If desired, the duration of the acoustic feedback can be shortened:
(3) -Registration signal-Duration of the acoustic feedback from the single horn
Value to short
