Have you maybe tried [Basic setting-04] "Resetting of all adaptation values" if that does anything ?
Or maybe you should have tried from Seat:

Yes I performed a reset of all adaptation values when I started up the car after install. Didn't do anything except remove some other errors which naver came back.
About Part No SW: 5F0 907 159 A HW: 4H0 907 159 A (used for 1.8l R4 TFSI). Do you think it really makes a difference? Possibly the software found inside the module for specific engines is my issue here

Andy: Hi - in your research of RT records (man, would I enjoy rummaging around in that "delicious" database!), did you manage to investigate the intriguing entry in the code string for the Instrument module (@ address hex17) called internal noise actuator (it appears in the 2 x non RT devices that I own)?
In a remarkable coincidence of happenstance, I came across this Bit title (this morning) when reading this thread whilst I was waiting for a batch process to complete on the Instrument module on my test bench (which wasn't successful - but that's a question for another day). Galvanized into action by the potential link with your post, I thought that I would activate the entry (on my test bench) and see-what-happens! First task was to ascertain which Byte/Bit the entry was related -it appears this is Byte 12, Bit 0.
As you will know from your long experience, Bit descriptor entries can be very non-intuitive (albeit the RT long coding helper screen entries are certainly much better than others that I have seen). Anyhow, my first thought was that somehow a version of Instrument module in the product-series on my test bench had some form of the same Soundaktor as per this thread, but perhaps this Bit is related to the module @ address A9 (perhaps - just a guess)?
So, I note that Byte 12 on quailallstar's instrument module has a value of hex10, so Bit 0 isn't set (and I don't suggest a change without more evidence), but when I enabled Byte 12, Bit 0 on my test bench I got the following error message on the MFD screen External vehicle noise fault: Drive with caution! -and the following DTC: DTC-ID 16776993 ($FFFF21):09 - Description: (U112100) Database missing message (this probably tells you which diagnostic device I was using - apology for the disclosure)
The reference to "External vechicle noise" in the error message does suggest that another module is involved (perhaps), but did any of the instrument modules on the cars that you researched for your post (above) have Byte 12, Bit 0 set?

Then that bit is probably not related to our normal Sound Aktuator, but rather to an external noise generator that's present as a warning to pedestrians on models capable of being operated in pure electric mode. Without an external noise generator, they are considered to be "too silent" and thus hazardous to pedestrians.

I'm having the same problem retrofitting a Audi S6 module (4G0 907 159 B) on my A6 3.0 TFSI. From what I understand this can only be fixed using a custom CAN emulator which fakes the correct engine type to the A9 module. However I haven't been able to find such a emulator.

I too haven't heard of such a thing before. I'm wondering if I pick up a 1.8t control module from a SEAT, if I'll have better luck.

Hey @Dana - let me see if I understand your hunch correctly. You suspect that enabling the module might be something as simple as updating the channel 19 adaptation install list?
Yeah since it is active on Andy's 2.0T and not on my 1.8T wagon. In your case shoot for IDE01996-SFT00071-Installation list: specified installations-Sound System Coded (or active). I doubt DTC-Actuator For Structure-borne Sound Enabled changes functionality.

If the channels you tweaked were labeled Structure-borne Sound please post the contents from the AdpLog.CSV file on that PC. The Adaptation Function Control Module map couldn't hurt either.
