I have a 2016 Skoda Superb with the Bolero radio and the A5 camera (Lane Assist and High Beam Assist).

I´ve tried to activate Road Sign Recognition using VCDS, and it works very well - apart from one little detail.

Each time the car is started, it throws a warning in the MFD related to the RSR since my car does not have
any navigation.

Is there any way to "tell the car", that it should´nt look for any map-data to compare the road signs to, and rely
only on the camera?

I used the guide found on Briskoda, and there is no faults on the car:

Controller 5F (Information Electrical)

10 - Adaptations

Select channel: (63) Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-traffic_sign_recognition_0x21

Adjust Value to activated

Channel: (151) Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_menu_display_road_sign_identification

Adjust Value to activated

Controller A5 (Front / front view camera)

07 - Coding

Byte 1

Bit 0 Enable - "01 traffic sign recognition (FTE) active"

Controller 5F (Information Electr.)

07 - Coding

Byte 24 Bit 6 - untick Traffic Sign Display (VZA) active

Controller A5 (Front / front view camera)

07 - Coding

Byte 16

Bit 4 - tick this box: Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR/VZE) active [PR-QR9]

GaSelle: Hi. Sometime in the distant past from somewhere on the net (I can't remember where, or when) I recorded the following instructions for enabling traffic sign facility on a MIB using the front camera. As you can see, the instructions are similar to yours, but they differ - a little.

These instructions are entirely untested, but they may provide some insight for you - I hope

Has anyone experienced any progress in this case? Still get the warning.

Have a look on Briskoda, I am not sure if others just live with the issue?

Try to open adaptations of A5 module and check for below setting:

IDE04733-Road sign detection fusion mode,Road sign fusion

Number is from my Tiguan MY2017, but search for "fusion mode". I don't remember other available options, but fusion setting is used to merge data from camera and navigation.

I think this should be set as Road Sign Detetection.

I spent months trying everything, it still gave the error.
The I changed my car and it had nav so once programmed it's ok.

I really wouldn't bother, without the nav TSR is so inaccurate it is pointless having, it misses and misinterprets so many road signs.

Even when set for "Road Sign Detection" and not "Fusion Mode" it still throws the error. I guess it´s not supposed to work w/o satnav.

And probably standard NAV is not enough either.

I have 5F Leon 2013 with front camera and MIB standard nav and with that it is not working correctly. Still gives the restricted mode error message every time.

Of course my map data is from 2013 so according to some sources, upgrading to newer version might help.

There has been many upgrades to front camera and for Discovery software since 2013. All meant to fix sign assist, lane assist and etc.... Work.
