Hello VCDS gurus!
I come seeking advice from those with knowledge about the settings for the Expanded electronic differential lock on a mkVII Golf. Specifically, I'm trying to alter the XDS setting on my car. I have understood from various forums that it is possible to change the setting from “Standard”, “Not activated”, “Weak”, “Medium”, or “Strong” via the adaptation channel for the ABS module.
The process that I have attempted to use is as follows :
1, Select [03] ABS
2. Select 10 Adaptation
3. From the pull down menu, select “Expanded electronic differential lock”
4. In the New value box select : “Standard”, “Not activated”, “Weak”, “Medium”, “Strong”

My problem is that that I can't get to step 4 above because of the error message on the following pic:
I had thought that there was perhaps a security code for the ABS module, but there is no mention of this in any of the forums that discuss this tweak.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how has it been resolved?
