01217 code but not on wiki any ideas

    Faults Found:
01217 - Side Airbag Igniter; Driver Side (N199)
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - MIL ON
01284 - Side Airbag; Drivers Side; Disabled
    000 - -

    Checked and the TSB 69-08-02 / 2011271.
i did it and still get the o1217 only the wiki doesnot say lower limit exceeded so i am wondering is the un documented 01284 disabled is part of this problem and also how did this get disabled? it was is way when i purchased the car a month back.

Someone disabled N199 via Adaptation, but they probably did that in an attempt to mask the real problem. Is the driver's seat stock?

Then I would try re-enabling it to see what happens. Obviously you do this at your own risk, and you might wish to remain clear of any of the bags when you do so.

Although messing with airbags should be performed by trained specialist i would recommend to clean and bend the airbag connectors below the seat. They usually collect oxidation and loose contact, the thing the airbag module is very keen about.

    Don't held me responsible.

It would be best to isolate the current track to the problem bag and unplug the ecu and harness connector at air bag.

Then measure the resistance after you have lifted the short terminal on ecu side to connector of bag on harness.

Do not measure resistance of the bag itself.......!

If this all checks out.......including the internal harness in seat....you need a bag.

It is most likely a dirt or bad wire where the seat moves or pivots.
