Mac OS X 10.7.5
Safari 6.1.2 (7537.74.9)
Java 7 Update 51

I downloaded the HEX-NET WiFi Configuration Utility here and I'm unable to run the .JAR file. After I double clicked the file, it shows up in my dock, but nothing else pops/opens up. I have the latest Java installed with default configuration settings. Any suggestions/ideas?

Someone who actually knows/uses Mac OS will have to chime in here. Among the Ross-Tech crew, there's only one, and that's Santos. But I think there are others here who might be familiar with Mac OS...

Same thing with me on 10.9.2.

Suspect there is a 'security' setting somewhere but could never get it to work, so ended up using Winders.
Am curious to find the solution myself.

It was HEX-NET ConfigV1.9. When I double clicked on it, a screen came up that said I needed to download another file, which was an Oracle file, to read it. I don't remember what that file was called. Once it was downloaded, the Hex-Net configuration file worked.

I installed the JDK and it still wouldn't run, so tried it on another Mac and it said to run it from the command line.

Opened a terminal, cd to Desktop, and typed java -jar HexNetConfigV1.9.jar and it worked

By the way, for it to work, I've found that I need to have the Hex-Net plugged in before I open the Hex-Net Config file.

I just downloaded it to my desktop, then with the Hex-Net device connected to a USB hub, I double-clicked the file. It opened right up.

I already have that set to allow from anywhere. My issue is not with installing, rather with running/opening it.

Have you tried running it via terminal?

Download the JAR file to your desktop. Then Follow the instructions provided by jakematic. In the event an error occurs, terminal will display the error message.

Opened a terminal, cd to Desktop, and typed java -jar HexNetConfigV1.9.jar and it worked

My HEX-NET showed up in the JAR utility when I first got it, but now, it no longer does...I have a hard time getting it back into infrastructure mode, any suggestions?

Try plugging in the Hex-Net prior to opening the Jar Config Utility. You also should be able to toggle between Access Point and Infrastructure modes with a quick push of the little red button on the Hex-Net itself.

What version of OSX? What version of Java?

Open the JAR utility using the command line instructions. This will give us more info to why it isn't seeing the HEX-NET.

Did you cd Desktop (or wherever the jar is) first ?
Terminal defaults to your home directory

That message will appear if the jar file is not in the same directory as the command.

Which directory did you save the Jar file to?
