here is the scan below

Here is the deal
well some PO changed my CCM to a non roadster model
Henceforth the top and deflector would not work.
So I found a CCM from the EU (Much cheaper!) and that worked fine
Top powers up and the deflector works now.
Even got a key fob from England and it synced fine.
Problem is now the car wont start.
Im thinking its the 01559 01560 codes.

Thanks for all the help and your great product!

George

Well, if we look at your Central Locking Module's Coding, it has the following options set:

+00001 = Rear Lid Opening via Rear Lid Lock Button
+00002 = Anti-Theft Locking Confirmation (Turn Signals)
+00004 = Selective Locking active
+00008 = Anti-Theft-System installed
+00016 = Half-Automatic Convertible Top (Roadster only)
+00032 = Auto-Lock/Unlock (Locking at 15 km/h)
+00064 = Comfort Operation (Windows/Sunroof) via Remote Control
+00128 = Right-Hand-Drive (RHD)
+00256 = Rear Lid Logic (Anti-Theft-System)
+00512 = Remote Control "Close" Confirmation (1x Turn Signals)
+01024 = Anti-Theft Locking Confirmation (Siren/Horn)
+02048 = Door/Window Logic (USA / Terminal 87)
+04096 = Remote Control "Open" Confirmation (2x Turn Signals)
+08192 = Remote Control active

You might try subtracting 8 from the existing coding to turn off the Anti-Theft system to see if that helps.

However, I'm scratching my head wondering why there's no option to turn off the "Safe" stuff (that's an anti carjacking "dealbolt" type feature that isn't allowed in the US). That's the source of your 01559 and 01560 faults, but I don't think that's why the car won't start.

Describe the no start situation. There are no fault codes for failure of start.

On those older cars, basically Mk.4 technology, the signal to the starter goes through the CCM (or in this case CLM) which can block it if it thinks that's appropriate. This will typically not produce any fault code.

Yes there is no engine fault codes and no failure to start codes.
Its like the starter was inhibited. No starter spin at all.

Uwe I will try it out tomorrow. I Just wish I had the long code helper like the newer cars have. Worked on a friends 09 GTI and it was nice!

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

This is a euro CCM so I think that might be why....

So I tried adding +8 and no go on the euro ccm. swapped back to the coupe american ccm and it starts. Copied the soft coding from the NA ccm and loaded in the euro ccm and swapped back. No start again.... perhaps the Euro ccm is bad or Im buggering it up.

You forgot the +2, turn signals for anti theft confirmation.
Basicly the coding should be 04690, if I'm getting it correct.

Yup! So I tried it still no joy. I went back to the original setup and nothing. I think this unit may be bad. Or just not willing to play with the US ECU...

I haven't heard the starter blockage on ccm, but then again i haven't played with mk4 Audis that much. On EU golf4 i know that i haven't encountered that situation if there could even be one. Maybe if there isn't than the ccm doesn't pass current through because it isn't supposed to? If that's the case, there is possibility to bridge the wires.

Did you get rid of the de-safe faults? What is the coding of the old CCM?

Sure it does...........Its part of the alarm......

Before condemning the module.

The first thing I would do is verify the alarm is disarmed in 0x35.............
Then confirm via wire diagrams with a starter jump out that the ignition switch is working in crank circuit to module and module to starter.....including any possible fuses or relays/grounds shared in tracks.
