Try turning off Smart Network Switch. Settings>Wi-Fi>Smart Network Switch

I don't think that can't be fixed on our side. Smart Network Switch sounds a lot like "Auto network switch" per FAQ 6.11:

6.11 Why won't my Android device stay connected to the HEX-NET in AP mode?

Many implementations of Android have a setting which causes them to disconnect from a WiFi access point that doesn't provide access to the internet (most likely Google services) and scan for other access points in the hopes of finding one that will let the device access the internet. This setting is typically under Advanced WiFi settings, and it's called "Auto network switch". So if you're having this problem, please check that setting and if it's on, turn it off.

HEX-NET not working in AP mode on a Google 6P device

HEX-NET not working in AP mode on a Google 6P device. The phone will not connect to the web interface in the mobile app or in chrome. The scan does find the 192.168.0.1 address but the page will not come up for the password prompt. Any ideas (see attached)?

What is it that you tried to attach?

What version of Android are you using?

It finally connected in AP mode. I believe my 6P phone device was not getting an IP address in AP mode. Once I received an IP address it connected in the mobile app and via chrome on my device. That was very strange.

It works with my laptop and my tablet which is a nexus 10 running version 5.1.1. I was puzzled myself. I think I will have to just keep an eye on the AP mode connect for now with my 6P device. If a device does not get an IP whether in AP or infrastructure mode - wont work. I should of checked that right away. Thx

Uwe, to close this issue. I went to my car and used the HEX-NET in AP mode and performed and AUTOSCAN. It worked fine from my (6P) mobile device.

Were your other devices in the area? I wonder if multiple devices were connected to the HEX-NET in AP mode at the same time.

Not at all. I tested each one separately and then shut it down before I tested another one.
