First post here but long time VCDS user since 2002!

The one thing driving me nuts is how lite the steering feels even at highway speeds on my new longroof. When compared to my 2011 Golf TDI, the 2016 GSW steering feels like 1980's era Cadillac. OK I am exaggerating just a little - but would love to find a way to increase the heaviness. Is there a way to mod this via VCDS with coding? Thank you!

Try this one, it is in German:

STG 44 (Lenkhilfe) auswählen
STG Zugriffsberechtigung -> Funktion 16
Zugriffscode 17580 hinterlegen
STG Anpassung -> Funktion 10
Kennlinie der Lenkunterstützung auswählen
wert entsprechend anpassen

I suspect that the security number in the balloon will work much better for this tweak (i.e. 19249)

Thanks for that information! Do you know what the difference is between comfort and dynamic? Assuming dynamic means "sporty"?

quailallstar: Hi. Your assumption is exactly the difference. "Dynamic" is stiffer, but not dramatically so. You can get much better response by changing IDE03734-Support power (thanks ZEAL) and by using the SA 28183, but the problem with this approach is that the setting appears to return to the default value 1 at the next ignition cycle.

sportmotor: hmm............I'm intrigued! Are you saying that 17580 is a valid SA for a mk7? I tried it on my vehicle and the module wouldn't accept it . Here's details of my module:

Address 44: Steering Assist (J500) Labels: 5Q0-909-144.clb
Part No SW: 5Q0 909 144 L HW: 5Q0 909 144 L
Component: EPS_MQB_ZFLS 119 1021
Coding: 01

Hmmm I will give both a try and see what the outcomes are.

Found this online too: http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/s...-anpassen.php?searchresult=1&sstring=Funktion

Comfort: Steering is smooth / comfortable
automatic: default value / steering depending of the driving profile probe
dynamics: steering is taut / sporty

Set mine to Dynamic and it has remained that way for over two weeks. Only thing is it's still not as stiff/heavy as my Golf 6 TDI's default steering feel is but still better than stock.
