01 Audi TT KEY-COM Interface Not Found!

Hello all, I have an older generic com interface that I've used for years with previous Audis without issue. Picked up an 01 Audi TT 225 last year and have never gotten any version of VAG-COM or VCDS to work. I've tried different laptops and even cheap and not so cheap eBay USB interfaces.

Bought a genuine Key-Com interface and same issue each time:

Port Status OK. Interface not found!

On the Key-Com, the LED is green until I hit the TEST button, then it turns RED.

I've validated the fuses 7 & 12 are not blown, and getting power to the connector (via volt meter on pin 16)

Radio is stock Concert. The pins in the ODBII connector are not pushed back and appear to be tight.

Any additional thoughts on what to try next?

Thanks in advance for any insight!!!

Try removing radio. I have had issues with them radios pulling the k-line high.
    Is it a cabriolet?

Thanks, had to wait for the radio removal keys to get here...

Pulled the radio. No change. The Key-Com works on my 2011 S4 (well, at least it's recognized), so I don't think it's the cable. I have a bad feeling there be gremlins...

Can you measure voltage with a multimeter between ground (pin 4 of obd connector) and k-line (pin 7 of obd connector)

Thanks smokey... I finally got my VCDS to work with a newer USB cable. K2: SHORT TO GROUND. I'll be testing the voltage this weekend.

I'm going to assume its something with the roof mechanism as its decided to stop going down. It comes up fine, but does nothing going down. Windows dont adjust or anything.
