2012 Sel loaded

Has anyone or does anyone know if it's possible without a total headache to take the seats from the sel and put in the se and the power and memory work and are the air nags compatible with each Toguan

Can anyone explane to me how to read the scan and modules. Im trying to use the seats out of one Tiguan into another Tiguan. Scan 2 is the one I would like to take the seats from and put into scan 1. From what I can gather the main airbag Modules are the same so will the air bags be recognized in the other car.

Yep the airbag modules look the same, right down to software versions and coding. I *think* that means the only potential hitch here would be if the airbag module detects that the PODS sensor has changed and would then need to be re-adapted. I'm not sure whether we have a procedure to do that for this particular airbag module. I'll rattle some cages...

I would take the loaded passenger's seat from the donor car and put it in your vehicle as a test. That would be moving the PODS controller from one car to another - but as Uwe mentioned they appear to use identical part numbers:

After moving the loaded seat from one vehicle to another please try this:

If that's successful and the Airbag module in your vehicle is fault free, I'd assume the other car would accept the seat from your vehicle without an issue. If the donor Pass. seat has any power functions you would have another issue - but I think all of those are full manual control.

The next concern would be retrofitting: 36-Seat Mem. Drvr which should be a control module in the driver's seat. If the donor car isn't going back together you could use the factory level wiring diagrams and steal parts from it ;) Does the 2012 need to be reassembled?

P.S. The Donor has mirror memory which is usually packaged with the #36 module in a SEL. That would be another system that may require swapping if the goal is to make one of the vehicles fully functional per factory design.

Persay it just has to have all parts runing.

So I will deff try the pass seat and see what happends.

The memory mirror isn't big deal, I just feal and like the SEL seats over my SE seats. My concern was the airbags.


Thanks guys I'll let you all know what I come up with in next few days.

Uwe and Dana I want to thank you very much for the help and tips, I successfully swapped the SEL seats into the SE and vise versa. It took me a little trial and error to get the airbags reset, I kept following procedure and couldn't get it so I reswaped old passanger seat and still couldn't clear so I got nervous I screwed up. Then it dawned on me to check codes, I had codes so I hit clear and light went out. ALL GOOD NOW THO.
