I've seen references to updated software for the transmission computer on the early T1s. Having an 04 V10 I would assume there were some updates at some point. However, from what I see in VCDS no updates have ever been done on ours. Here's what the "Advanced ID" shows:

When it gets below freezing the truck doesn't like to start without running the Webasto first or cycling the key 4-5 times.
