I wonder if it ever had it? It wasn't required in 2007. Mike's Rabbit does not have it -- but the factory take-off rims we bolted onto to replace the original steelies have senders.

It doesn't look like the installed 46 module supports direct TPMS.

This vehicle was born with PR code 7K0 (Without tire pressure warning 
light) in addition to a MIN 46 controller:

Vehicles born with MAX controllers support significantly longer coding 
and TPMS is available in Byte 17.  Your controller on the other hand 
only supports 14 Bytes of coding so it isn't possible to even try to 
enable that coding bit.

I located a scan from a 2007 Jetta with the identical 2.5L Engine 
controller and his 46 was a MAX unit with "RDK" in the component field:

If you want to see if 1K0 959 433 CD is compatible with your car don't 
hesitate to post in forum to receive feedback from a larger audience. 
My only other concern would be related to the 17-Instruments.  If you do 
not currently have a TPMS light illuminated in the instrument cluster it 
may not support the actual warning light function.

Providing the TPMS light is ON in the Instrument cluster currently I think it would be safe to move forward with a 46 module retrofit. If the TPMS light isn't working with those fault codes.. I would be concerned it doesn't support the function and that would increase the overall cost and complexity of this retrofit.

I just had the local salvage yard let me know that he had a MK5 GTi for part out and it may/should have TPMS. That should solve the instrument light problem and I can always get a suffix CD control module as you mentioned. Does that sound logical?

So I am ordering the proper module 1K0 959 433 CD which should allow coding for TPMS. I will have to get the proper coding then. If the TPMS light does not illuminate, I will get a 2007 gti instrument cluster that had TPMS 1K6 920 972 EXZ01

Sounds good Gregg. Because the CD module is used it should be coded reasonably but it may need fine tuning in the Coding department. You won't be able to copy/paste your old base coding in because of the length discrepancy so post the next Auto-Scan if you need assistance. Remote matching is located here:

.. and I hope the original car remotes are compatible with the CD module! (I didn't check that in the parts catalog).

The used cluster OTOH is the Immo so hold off on installing it until we see if you need it.

TPMS retro

Dana, Thanks! I am getting a NEW factory module and cluster (if needed) from the dealer. Hopefully they can/will code it like a 2007 GTi with TPMS even though the car is a regular rabbit 2dr auto gas. Ditto for the cluster if needed. I took a strong flashlight and can see the TPMS light on the speedo so i am hoping the module should turn the light on. If not -cluster time.

Good news and bad. The CD suffix module installation gets the TPMS light to come on in the cluster (original)! The light blinks and then goes solid BUT will not go out. The dealer woke up the sensors by pressure changes and driving but no luck. I am going over to the dealer to pick up the car and will run an auto scan and post here later. Any ideas?

TPMS light on but will not turn off

I think that the long coding needs to be changed. A factory new comfort module was installed to allow TPMS to now be functional. Also the remote will not lock car remotely and faults codes for a four door- this is a 2 door 2.5 auto. The dealer states that the transmitters were "woke up" but I will try myself.

Just ran the Ross Tech for long coding the modules- got the tpms light off and checked function by lowering air pressure- it works!! Pretty cool how the balloons walk even a newbie through the process. Now off to get the remote to work and lose rear door/window faults? Its a 2 door! Have to figure out safe mode? I will post another scan when done.

Now only the remotes and rear hatch do not work-progress. I will take the car back to the dealer to get the remotes working but the rear hatch opening still does not work. Actually the switch on the door for the hatch never did work but the opening of the hatch with the remotes or the interior locks did. Suggestions.

I would want to make sure they disabled Factory Mode first. If they did not that may explain the remote issue. If that channel is disabled already I guess we should check the remote control part numbers against the new controller to make sure they are compatible.

Next, Coding. Although I didn't give up - I couldn't find a single 2-door Golf scan with one of those CD suffix MAX 46 modules. We do know this is a common Jetta factory coding:

13900F880186281B0904058FB0880F0488DCA0

That will not be 100% correct but as Magnus pointed out there are coding bits for the hatch/trunk functions (Jetta versus Golf or even JSW <- on that not I'll try to locate JSW scans since they have a hatch) in addition to 2 versus 4-door. Although it won't be correct I would paste that into the controller at some point and try re-matching remotes, followed by tweaking the door configuration. If it helps we can try to dig into the hatch bits but I'd want to see another scan in that condition so I don't undo any progress you made with the Long Coding Helper.

.. switching off the CD tunnel vision I located a (likely modified) NAR 2008 R32 scan with a CT MAX:

Since those were all automatic transmissions with a hatch and 2-doors it should get you darn close so start with that instead of the Jetta example above please.
