    TPMS 3AA907273H into Passat B6

I've installed direct TPMS module 3AA 907 273 H into my Passat B6 with the following hardware:

    B7/B8 TPMS module:
    Address 65: Tire Pressure
    Control Module Part Number: 3AA 907 273 H
    Component and/or Version: RDKBERU30 H04 0012

    B7 BCM:
    Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: 3AA-937-087.clb
    Part No SW: 3AA 937 087 J HW: 3AA 937 087 J
    Component: BCM PQ47 H++ 421 0465
    Coding: 000800000000000000980088200009FE67F56888417D876064 8820240040

    B7 CCM:
Address 46: Central Conv. Labels: 3C0-959-433-46.clb
    Part No SW: 3AA 959 433 B HW: 3AA 959 433 B
    Component: KSG PQ47 ELV 043 0645
    Coding: 18910A0051034E763602951570084FCE705900

    CC Tacho:
    Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels: 3C8-920-xxx-17.clb
    Part No SW: 3C8 920 880 R HW: 3C8 920 880 R
    Coding: 161F01

    B7 Gateway:
    Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) Labels: 7N0-907-530-V2.clb
    Part No SW: 7N0 907 530 AN HW: 7N0 907 530 AN
    Component: J533 Gateway H56 1642
    Revision: H56 Serial number: 101013F1001943
    Coding: 462006

But I get an error on the Tacho:

    1 Fault Found:
    10486016 - Control module
    B2001 00 [009] - Incorrect software version
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 00000001
    Fault Priority: 5
    Fault Frequency: 1
    Reset counter: 142

    Any help appreciated.

I've disabled the ABS indirect TPMS by changing the coding back to 0000283.

Is the tacho not supporting this version of the TPMS ECU?? Or am I forgetting something???

    Thanks for all the help

273 H working only with Component Protection. As far as I know 273 F is the latest working good for 5Q0 hardware

There is no component protection on any 3AA modules

What is the hardware / software version of your tacho?

    It is component protection .
Already tested brand new H module so I know what I am talking about

Early RDK module 3AA SW with 3AA Hw
    latest F and H use 5Q0 Hw
H - working only with latest cluster (I guess is SW100x) due to component protection supporting
F - working with older cluster.

To run H you must have compatible parts (GW, cluster) and match it together online. Even if you have right parts in older car , you still need Enable it online.
However - H can be downgrade to F and fully use w/o any Activation

How can I downgrade the H module to F Version? I do have odis but not the F version SW.

My Tacho is hw03 and software 0703. It would be possible to upgrade my tacho to swx002, but does the H version then work? Or do I need to match these online?

I know for instance that just upgrading the tacho to the x002 would work standalone, but not sure about adding a component protected module to it?

Nu tacho is hw 03 and software 0703. However I can upgrade this tacho to x002 if this would work with the H module.

Higher SW will only support devices with Component Protection,
Are you able to match those device toogether ?
Most people think if controler is with Component protection, they need only cluster with this
but component protection is a security check which need to be match too

And how to downgrade the H to F? Is that someting I can do using ODIS ?? I don't see an eeprom on the pcb of the module. So the sw is stored in the MC95xxxx controller I guess.

Would the F version work with my 3AA 907 275F sensors?

Btw, I did not get any error on the RDK module 65 though. I would have expected that the module would not work with in the car it would have thrown an error. But I could not long-code the module either. The only error I got was the incorrect SW version in the Tacho. Therefor I would expect upgrading the Tacho SW, it would be able to communicate with the TPMS H version.

As far as I know all cluster SW with X*** are not official.
When you look into ETKA for RDK module 273H is relisted since 05.2015 -> current

Cluster SW you talking X002 -is out 6.2014 as I remember , so cluster was a year before RDK module.
perhaps is supporting some Component protection , but even ..... this must be activate and match online
