Hi everyone,
Just got my KII USB this morning, didnt waste any time using it :p

I have a auto scan and faults that Id like help diagnosing.
I crossed over from GM 1.5 yrs ago, so Im new to VAG diagnosis/common issues that codes point out.

Im wondering about the misfires on p0301 cyl 1 & p0303 cyl 3 as they didnt appear until I removed throttle body completely/unplugged and performed hard reset(2 hr unplug batt)
and also p0507 started after clean/remove/hard reset
also is engine coding correct? 07550
p0455 comes and goes,p0411 comes and goes

I have APR stage 2 fully loaded ecu ,test pipe V2.01 ,stock-93-100-valet ( I run 93 99%)
3"turbo back full exhaust
R8 coil packs
bkr7e plugs
Forge tip
new 710N
IE timing manual belt tensioner
Graf water pump
new green top coolant sensor/thermostat with G13 fluid
and a LOT more!!
Ive spent serious $$$ reviving this lovely machine, I refuse to quit now:D

Thanks for any help

None of this belongs in Retrofits. I'm going to merge your two threads and move them to Car Repair Support.

Nah, "Retrofits" is for installing factory parts that didn't come on the car. Your car has aftermarket parts and looks to be somewhat broken.

A bit rich there. So with the engine up to temp and at idle, clear DTCs and then quickly go back into MVB 033. What are the readings for the first field?

What MAF part number is installed, injectors, and FPR?
Firmware is behind.
Grounds to coils and coil description installed are suspected FOD.
Intake leaks?
What is placement of the OXS in the exhaust for this fine machine?

Both o2 sensors are new, Bosch ,each in the correct spot
Injectors are original I suspect, plan on green giants come spring
Byers Imports in Cols Oh told me its not there fault if they erase my APR stage 2 software.... BS.... only update they have is cold start......I dont believe them
no intake leaks, used 1/2 can carb cleaner everywhere :P
R8 coils are to hold up better than 1.8t coils for my application
MAF 0280218063
FPR 3.0 bar 0280160557

wiring harness is of course cracked every mm but I cleaned all of it with brake cleaner and wrapped in elec. tape in July
Didnt get misfires until I cleaned TB and performed hard reset last week

I will check trim tonight when I pick my son up, and post after the example you gave

Thanks in advance every1

The reason it's cracked is from heat and being insufficient.
The R8 coils bring no such advantage.
Check your booster for air leaks.

Jef's looking to see if the 033 data immediately after clearing faults at idle does something like the demo in this video:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Fuel_Trim_Info

You sprayed for leaks but did you pull the oil cap to see if the PVC check valve is leaking an excessive amount of vacuum into the crankcase? To add to Jack's booster comments, all of those hard plastic lines are noted for cracking at or near the brake booster. Due to the age of the vehicle I guess the booster itself could be faulty.

Does it run half decent without the MAF plugged in at all? We need VW part numbers such as 06A 906 461 ??, not the Bosch numbers to confirm, but if so the MAF could be faulty/incorrect -or- feedback from the sensor is causing issues due to an underlying problem.

Yes I loosened oil cap,let it dance
With MAF unplugged it does limp mode
ALL lines, hoses have been replaced, it was on its way to junk yard
I saved him

This didnt happen until I cleaned TB,hard reset
Nothing else was touched,bumped,disconnected

TB is original so is MAF and injectors
