New VCDS tool, Some Faults, Trouble shooting time.

    Hi Folks,

So after many hours of researching diagnostic tools, I pulled the trigger on a VCDS tool and could use some help trouble shooting my 2011 Audi A3.
Some pre info for you pro's, I have looked at the following already wrt the DPF code and the P2101 code.

For the P2101 code, I removed and cleaned the throttle body valve and re-installed about three weeks ago, things where going well, then the code showed up
again. I have cycled the valve using the output test routine in VCDS and it cycles.

The DPF code, I followed the manuals recommendation to drive the Pi$$ out of my car, which was fun no just kidding! but i did take it out for a nice little rip!
as recommended by so many DPF post's and the DPF is still lit up. Last night, we tried the Emergency DPF regeneration using the VCDS, but i think it didn't happen? Not sure
how to verify this? watching the MB temperatures they where healthy looking at Block 241 and 099 ( sorry, forgot to take note). yes, I know there a log button, still getting familiar VCDS

Something new that has not showed up yet in the form of a code is, I noticed just shortly after shutting the car off, a squeal come from under the car. using the test routine Exhaust pressure control valve(J883) to cycle the valve, it squeals. but no code. I guess this needs servicing?

Thanks in advanced for your thoughts and recommendations.

btw, car is in stock form.

    Please see below scan.

    MB Code 241.1 69ml 241.2 50.1g 241.3 45.9g my apologies if the 241.X is the wrong order.

    You tried this procedure?

You may already have too much soot in there....

    Hi Uwe,
Thanks for the quick response, I did give it a try. When you say "to much soot", I guess if the soot levels are above 45g which mine are indicating 50.1, then an emergence DPF regeneration won't preform correct?

    Cheers,
    Rob

    Hi Folks,

The Ross Tech scan tool was helpful in recovering my DPF situation.
I would like to update that the exhaust gas flapper valve was telling me it wasn't happy with some squeaks and screams, so i removed it and with much effort was able to return it to it easy rotating self again.
I have some questions for the pro's here.
I read a very long post on the TDI club forum by TurboAbA and found my issue to be very similar to what was described in this thread. There was a very good question asked in his thread that was going to be asked here on the VCDS forum about being able to restore the Ash value to its prior value if the DPF was left on the car, I was wondering if someone may recall if it was answered and if so how does one go about accomplishing this ?

If your interested in the state of the exhaust valve video here --> https://youtu.be/2GWRrA76qo8
