ESP basic settings for 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI after cluster swap

Hi, I'm new. I did a cluster swap and amazingly it went mostly ok besides my ABS coding going to 0's. I had the old ABS coding and it was accepted. The only remaining issues are an immobilizer fault that wont clear despite all my keys working and what appears to be normally solved by basic settings for ESP.

When following the linked 1K instructions from the wiki I get module not available for the G200 and other sensors. Over 24 hours the steering angle sensor appears to now be happy. The yellow steering wheel light went out. Pressing the brake hard made the yellow ABS light blink and disappear. So I think the brake pressure sensor happy. However, the G200 lateral acceleration sensor still seems to not like itself. The yellow ESP light remains solid.

At first after the cluster swap the airbag light was solid yellow, steering wheel light was solid yellow, the ABS and ESP lights were blinking yellow, and the brake light was blinking red. Now I only have the solid yellow ESP light.

My questions: 1) How do I clear the immo fault? 2) How do I clear the ABS faults? 3) How do I perform the ESP basic settings on the 2010 JSW?

Clear it .........it probably had an old key installed from another cluster that wasn't authorized.

The 1K instructions worked to clear the ABS faults. I had followed them twice before, but must have missed a step.

Still have the immo fault. It was caused by trying to pair a used key. I had attempted pairing the key for the previous immo with the replacement immo before flashing it. After flashing the immo all my keys work, but the fault won't go away.

Keys have to all be remarried and the fault will go bye bye than or an unapproved tool was used....... and a mistake was made.

I've attemped the VCDS Immo IV instructions. My immo does not have an ID. It's got the challenge. My immo Measuring Blocks button is grayed out and I cannot click on it. When choosing Security Access and entering the PIN I get "Not supported by Control Module." Any idea how to proceed?

What "tool" did you use to marry the keys prior?

How do you know your PIN is good and do you know your CP bytes?

Hi Jack,

Honest question: Does CP apply to 2010 JSWs? I'm not familiar with it. I have googled and can only ascertain that >MY2012 Golfs may have CP.

I don't know the PIN is good. But the response VCDS provides leads me to believe the Immo module is not even looking at my PIN.

The PIN was provided by the other tool. I'm currently working with the developer of the tool. The "test" version that allowed for the PIN retrieval, key matching, and EEPROM reading and writing also damaged my original cluster's little icons (snowflake, fuel, mpg symbols, etc) when testing another function. I only wanted to add a second key, but the software did not work with my cluster. So I asked for help. The developer was kind enough to make adding the key possible, so I felt obliged to help him test the other function. I should I have quit while I was ahead.

Based on that information, is it possible to use VCDS to clear this code?

I am not trying to do anything illegal or against forum rules. I'm only asking for a bit of guidance and if VCDS can help. I really appreciate all the insight so far!

IMHO, looks like the keys need to be rematched.... however:

As a general rule, VW models using Immo 4A (with Adaptation) may have Serial Numbers that contain VWZ (for Example VWZ7Z0G7051888). VW models using VWX (for Example VWX7Z0G7051888) "or ones without a Serial Number shown at all, do not use Adaptation and will have the revolving "Challenge" Value in Advanced ID. Those systems using a Challenge Value are not considered supported at this time. This means with challenge systems, VCDS cannot perform ANY of the procedures listed below:

It was around 2007 year models that a newer generation of Immobilizer was rolled out (Immob 4C) and with it, the revolving challenge. Your car being a 2010, will have this type of system and as such, VCDS can not be used to do key adaptations.

Short answer, take the car to the dealer or find a competent automotive locksmith and have them relearn all the keys.

You're wrong. Sorry Jack. The uncloned, unpirated, official release of the tool doesn't work with that cluster. If it did, the developer wouldn't have requested the original cluster be mailed to him halfway around the world.

And yes, I agree, you should stop doing research about cloned pirated tools. You brought the subject of alternate tools up and seem fixated on it. My questions are only related to the use of VCDS.

Both MM and VDO clusters use the same part number. Mine was a MM and it did not work. The developer acknowledged he never had access to a MM with that part number, so he requested I send it to him.
